Wny nobody don't talk 'bout CB no 'mo?,
By Henry Cooper ""Still One Me"" (Atlanta, GA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: One (Audio CD)
It's hard to imagine 'cuz I been a fan of his since day 1 (1990 or '91). And I still believe he could be the most-talked about rappers in the world of hip-hop history. Period. Ya'll may realize he is definitely the Barry White or Biggie Smalls of Hip-Hop. This cat got skillz. That's my dad's fav. rapper. Mostly I call him my man for instance.
For fans to "The One", "Treat 'Em Right", "Just the Two of Us", "The Big Man",etc. must gotta have this if they're fans to the Notorious B.I.G., Heavy D & The Boyz, Guerilla Black (the West Coast sound of Biggie), B.B. Jay (a Christian rapper homage to the gospel sound of Biggie), to name a few. I recommend u buy @ least any of Chubb Rock's albums including this 1 and tell me whad'dya think. Peace.

before there was Biggie,
This review is from: The One (MP3 Download)
there was Chubb, and if you really want to know where Biggie got his flow, you need to keep in mind that lil Biggie grew up on the same block as Chubb in Brooklyn....
this is the original lyricist! Biggie just went more gangsta with it. Frankly I prefer the uplifting and educational style of Chubb. I'll bump 'em both in a heartbeat all day (because I also grew up on that block! LOL)Big up to Brooklyn!

Hip-hop recordings like this one makes us (old school folks) appreciate compact disc! Chubb brought it back!

The Real Deal,

This is one pure and genuine hip-hop classic gem. Chubb Rock flexes his lyrical abilities showing no mercy whatsoever. The aggressiveness and rawness he gives off on every track here is pure dynamic. An appropriate title for one of hip-hop's most underrated brilliant lyricists.

Chubb is without a doubt one of the most slept on MC's ever. The first MC with a PHD (son went to college at 16)his word play and focus on real issues has made him one of the top five ever. Anything chubb drops I am buying, not downloading, rock on chubb.

AN UNDERAPPRECIATED GEM!!!!,
This review is from: One (Audio CD)
why chubb is not considered one of the best mcs is beyond me. when i heard TREAT 'EM RIGHT back in '90, i knew that i had to get this. i had the cassette, but i had to hock it for personal reasons. i got the cd when i found a sale on it at a store in the mall. i was reminded how much i loved it then. with a more mature mind, i love it even more now. ESSENTIAL!!!!
