5.0 out of 5 stars This CD leads you into an awesome worship experience!
I love praise and worship music that leads me into a closer love relationship with the Lord. This CD does that. 2.0 out of 5 stars Was not as good as I thought it would be
Well.....Compared to kirk's past projects, this one just didn't do much for me. I think I only listened to it a few times. Then I gave it to someone esle. But I will still suport his future projects. He does have an anointed on his life and some thing to give to others.

I love praise and worship music that leads me into a closer love relationship with the Lord. This CD does that. I read all the reviews and kept hearing good things about Kurt Carr's "One Church" on BET, but it took me awhile to listen to some samples on Amazon.com and finally buy the CD. What took me so long?! From the introductory chords to the very last song, I felt the anointing of the Holy Spirit on this project. It has been the only P&W CD I've played since I got it a few weeks ago and each time I hear it, it lifts me anew. I have any number of "favorite" songs on it, depending on the day and what spiritual need I have at the time. I rate this an A+++ for spiritual worship alongside Donnie McClurkin's "Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual Songs."

5.0 out of 5 stars STELLAR & GRAMMY AWARD WORTHY, April 8, 2005
By
Kevin (Brooklyn, NY USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: One Church (Audio CD)
Let me begin by saying that this CD is nothing short than one of the most anointed recordings I have ever heard. The vision that God has given Kurt Carr to incorporate different cultures into this worship experience is living proof that God Reigns. The excellence of this recording (sound, music and vocals) will make any listener proud to say this is a Gospel CD. God deserves excellent representation and this CD does that and more. This CD touches every vein of the character and attributes of Almighty God.

Praise & Worship Leaders, if you are looking for some new material for your teams, take a listen to "Reign", "God Great God" and "My Time for God's Favor" which is The Presence of the Lord remix. They will have your congregations giving God some 'sho nuff praise.

Choir Directors, give a listen to "God Blocked It", "One Word", "If I Tell God" (totally incredible) and "Something Happens" (I can't be involved in anything else when I'm listening to this one). Your choir members will thank you if you learn any or all of these songs, trust me.

And for anyone that just plain out right loves to give God some pick 'em up and put 'em down praise, "Power Praise" - Let God Arise will have you doing either the 'Chicago Bump', the 'California Buck' or the 'New York Stomp'. On your next visit to New York, just take a trip over to Citadel of Praise and Worship in Brooklyn where Dr. Kevin Bond is the Pastor and Professor James Hall is the chief musician and you'll understand what I'm saying.

When I need to get 'behind the veil' and into God's inner court immediately, the "Speak Lord Chant" does it for me every single time. It is my meditation when I'm preparing my mind to hear thus saith the Lord.

In closing I have to give special recognition to our hometown sweetheart, Timiney Figueroa-Caton for holding it down, representing 'BK' (that's Brooklyn, NY for those who don't know) and for bringing her own sense of style and anointing to this incredible song.

Buy this for anyone you know and they will thank you. Buy this for yourself and your spiritual man will thank you. Every song on this album will meet you at whatever spiritual state you are in at that time in your life. I cannot wait for the video/dvd to come out. You don't even need a Prophet to tell you that this presentation will sweep next year's Stellar Awards like nobody's business. Thank you Kurt for not only listening to, but for obeying the voice of God to help make us ONE CHURCH.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Radio Announcer's Dream, May 17, 2005
This review is from: One Church (Audio CD)
Kurt Carr has stepped out of the shadow of Kirk Franklin (who is also on GospoCentric) to become the premiere Gospel recording artiste of the last ten years. His music has now become a standard for worship leaders and gospel announcers. This album is a must have if you are buying music right now. The music is fresh and exciting, the singing is great or even excellent, the writing is anointed and the diversity is stupendous. Kurt Carr & the Kurt Carr Singers are the best gospel group around today. No doubt! The requests on my show come in for "Something Happens" and the remix of "The presence of the Lord is here" and the profound "One Word". I play every single track on the radio, they are all good. Big up Kurt!

5.0 out of 5 stars This Album Deserves An Extra Star!!!!, June 11, 2006

This review is from: One Church (Audio CD)
This album should have six stars. I used to go to work early in the morning (2:30 am) about an hour away from home, so having a CD that you can drive to work on was essential to my commute. This was the only CD that I debuted on the drive that didn't force me to change it to a mix to stay awake. This album grabbed me from its first play and it only seems to get better. It is truly an amazing experience. The first eleven tracks of this CD (ELEVEN!!!) flow extremely well into one another and almost every song is superlative. Before this album I never bought anything by Kurt Carr, although I've been a participant in many Praise & Worship (P&W) experiences where his songs have been used. I always thought his stuff was a little fast and edgy for me or kinda corny. This CD does not have that problem. In fact, every song on the CD flows so well that only "Be Grateful" and "They Didn't Know" seem out of place, only because the first sounded a little awkward in his style and the latter kind of ends this energetic CD with a track that has lethargic verses. "They Didn't Know" is beautifully performed and it does end well, but using it as a bookend to a CD that exudes P&W energy just makes the end seem wrong. This hurts the driveability of the CD, but that is not a reason to miss out on this gift. If you like gospel that is done well, GET THIS CD!!!! (I am shouting at you!) You'll be happy you did.

4.0 out of 5 stars Kurt Carr does it again., March 9, 2006
This review is from: One Church (Audio CD)
Each album he has gets better. I thought Awesome Wonder was full of great songs, many of which could be sung in church or as solo. With One Church, we get songs that are useable in your daily life. That's the true test of a gospel album for me, if it can be different and vibrant and alive, and yet be 'ownable' in the sense of songs that are useable in church. This album delivers the goods.

If you ain't been to church via a CD in a while (and I do mean ain't), then here's your chance to raise da' roof!

The Kirt Carr Project is blastin' the greatest selection of new and old tunes that will cause you to Ch'urch! There should be a warning lable on this one: Driving or operating heavy machinery can be hazardous while listening to this one! You just might have to pull over to get your shout on!
