The N word was hard to continue reading at points but the action and the story keep me reading. I enjoyed the book. As I think of the ending and I vision other scenarios I think the author choose a good ending because there's more to this book than a good read this is a it could of happened to me story.
Author Well done.

Crazy is Right!,
By Linda Y "always reading" (Columbus, OH) - See all my reviews
This review is from: One Crazy Night (Paperback)
Yvette invites her college friend for a week stay in what sounds like a rural part of Pennsylvania in the 1990's. Clyde is a self absorbed, wise cracking CPA who gets into town and immediately clashes with unfulfilled homeowner Yvette who seems angry at the world. On Clyde's 2nd night, he hits a deer coming from dinner and they end up literally running for their lives from a band of white supremacists out to hang them. This was a page turning, non-stop action filled drama as Yvette and Clyde discover who they are and what they're made of. To get out of danger, they have to learn to depend on each other and evaluate their own predjudices. A very enjoyable read.

Yvette Sims lives in Western Pennsylvania and in the 90's it wasn't a popular place for blacks. Yvette ask a former college friend Clyde Davis to visit for a whole week, but the only thing that these 2 have in common is the constant bickering back and forth. While coming home from dinner, Clyde's car collides with a deer in a lone wooded, dark area. Guessing that help is on the way by a truck full of men that is watching, there guess is wrong and one night turns into a game of cat and mouse. Trying to get along and while running for their life literally becomes one crazy night!
I have to say the plot was on point and I enjoyed the book up until half-way past the middle point. I can't believe this author wrote an adrenaline pumping book and just let all the action take a turn left and let the reader down towards the end. If the ending was written or revised differently this book would've gotten a 4-5 stars, but for now it get's 3 stars. Still a book to enjoy reading. |
