I pre-ordered this book from Tim Hailand's website (OneDayintheLifeof dot org) and received it recently, but I intend to buy several more copies from Amazon when it becomes available. One Day in the Life of Daniel Radcliffe is a beautiful, illuminating book that offers a glimpse into the life of the young actor during his first Broadway appearance as Alan Strang in the play EQUUS. I was fortunate enough to see the play when it came to Broadway and the chaos surrounding the young star during the after-show autograph sessions.
This book does a spectacular job of chronicling everything leading up to that performance and the wind-down afterward. In addition, and perhaps most special to me as a fan, are the notes from Radcliffe himself about each of the photographs. They provide even more insight--and on a personal level--to the actor's day and his thoughts on his experiences in New York and on Broadway.
For me, it's a lovely keepsake of a very special time in Radcliffe's life.

I received this book yesterday and read it last night. It is a book of stunning photography and insights into Daniel's life. I am not that huge of a Harry Potter fan because I don't care that much for fantasy, but I was fortunate enough to see him in Equus on Broadway about a month before this day was photographed. Because of this, I was very interested to see what his day was like before and after the show. I really enjoyed reading the comments Daniel had for almost each photo.

Equus has been one of my favorite shows on Broadway so far and this book put a smile on my face as I reminisced that wonderful evening. I cannot wait to see what life has in store for Daniel in the years to come. I highly recommend this book! Oh, and a portion of the sales of each book sold goes to a wonderful charity called Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Thanks.

I pre-ordered this book through Tim Hailand's website and waited anxiously for it to arrive. I needn't have waited so anxiously, it was actually rather disappointed. Daniel Radcliffe's comments were wonderful, insightful, engaging, conversational and sweet. The pictures by Hailand were a big disappointment. I'm an amateur photographer myself and I have more insightful images into my eighteen-month old nephew than Hailand has provided here. In many of the images of the subject himself is blurred or missing altogether. Reading about Radcliffe's DVDs and books is interesting, seeing a photograph of nothing but them is not. Corbis and other professional sites, as well as amateurs, more than covered Radcliffe signing autographs outside the stage door during the run of EQUUS, so I see no reason why Hailand felt the need to include multiple images in this book. Hailand even provided a video on his website explaining the concept of the book, and it doesn't even fully hold true, unfortunately. Bottom line: this book is pretty much for those that are very very big fans of the young actor; if you're a casual fan you might consider it as part of the proceeds do go to charity.

The book arrived in excellent condition, and was sent within a week's time despite being shipped from across the country (I'm from Canada). When I bought this book I selected standard shipping which meant that I was expecting this book to arrive several weeks later. The estimated arrival date by Amazon was the first week of June, and I purchased it late March! So I was pleasantly surprised to find that it had arrived so quickly, by First Class mail.

As for the book itself, it is a gem...the pictures of Daniel Radcliffe are beautiful, candid shots of the actor which fans are likely never to see if they don't buy this book. The first two pictures of Dan sleeping in particular are very sweet and overall if you are a fan of this actor than this book is a must-have. Especially for the endnotes by Dan himself! They are witty and very insightful--you will learn much more from his comments in this book about who he is as a person than you will from most mainstream interviews that he's done.

I know my title sounds cliche but as corny as it may sound it's true. It really was a day in the life of Daniel Radcliffe. The photographs were awesome and the little notes Daniel left at the end were a much appreciated bonus. So, for anyone who enjoys looking at night time New York, and cab rides- get this.

The book arrived at the right time, but the packing was terrible.
The book came in just a thin cardboard box that ruined the hardcover.
The book arrived with the hard cover terrible wrinkled and the side was torn apart.
It is too sad because the book it's beautiful but it's ruined.

I ordered this book through the onedayinthelifeof website, and LOVE it! Saw it on here and ordered for a friend. I am a collector of black and white photos as well as photo books, and this is a beautiful art photo book that happens to be on a popular figure (Daniel Radcliffe). I'm actually thinking about purchasing a print of the first image in the book (sleeping Daniel in bed) a gorgeous very well-composed image. I have to say that I am not a huge Harry Potter fan, or a Dan Radcliffe obsessive like some people seem to be, but this book really makes him appear to be very interesting, beautifully composed and edited! I have to disagree completely with "movie girl" review - she seems to be missing the point entirely, and I actually found Tim Hailand's youtube video to be interesting and informative. This is a great photo book that I am very happy to add to my collection of photo books, I think many people would like this book.
