Everything about this book is beautiful - the illustrations, the writing and, especially, the sentiment. It's a teaching tool but also a simple parable of love and appreciation which anyone of any age can appreciate. I loved it so much, I purchased for a friend with young children.

This was one of my favorite books when I was little. I would sit and re-read it, and even take it to school and ask my teachers to read it. I recently rediscovered my old copy, and it continues to make me happy; I fall in love with it all over again. The simple message is powerful and the illustrations are gorgeous and grow more colourful by the page. One of those rare and wonderful children's books that's good for any age.
