I have bought this album twice now. I had to buy it again as I had it at a good friend's place but did not have the heart to take it away, as it had been in his possession for years. He played it every time he cooked dinner for me.

This is a beautiful Jazz album, perhaps along with "Future Girl", my favourite Vince Jones album. He is at his best throughout the session, smooth ballads, great band - comforting, warm and meticulous.

I recommend this album. It will not disappoint and it will remain in your Jazz collection, sitting waiting to be played at any opportunity. No matter what mood, this album will have the effect of giving you some perspective on the life that you're trying to work out.

Featues Benny Green on piano, Dale Barlow on tenor sax, Carl Allen on drums, Charnett Moffatt on bass and Vince on trumpet and vocals. The songs are well-chosen (and recorded in NYC if memory serves) and present Vince at his swingingest. Benny Green is impeccable on piano, with just the right chord colorations, and Dales Barlow's sax improvisations are very good. The sound leaves a little to be desired in the clarity department. But the album is so soulful and enjoyable you won't care.

When you combine a voice as smooth as melted chocolate with some incredibly great tunes...watch out! It's addictive! If I could only recommend one CD to anybody, this would be it.
