4.0 out of 5 stars DAMN!!!!
I was lucky enough to see Halestorm in Pheonix AZ on the Snocore tour along with Shinedown,Seether, and Flyleaf, and I gotta say they are freakin bada**!! I did not expect to hear that voice come out of that lead singer! She can freakin rock and i was suprised. This is just a live EP but it rocks and anyone who has seen them live knows what I'm saying. So buy it!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Singer that can't control her voice
Decent hard rock bar band with a female singer that can't control her voice. When she nails the note, she can sound as good as Nancy Wilson (Heart) in her prime. When she doesn't, which is more often then not, there's hell to pay. The EP is presented as a live recording, so hopefully things will be cleaned up a bit with the studio release.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Album, November 7, 2009
This review is from: One & Done Ep Live (Audio CD)
I am not much of a writer but this CD is just excellent.
Songs to pay attention to:
- Better Sorry Than Safe
- I Get Off
- Innocence
- Love/Hate Heartbreak
- Bet U Wish U Had Me Back
There is some resemblance to Heart but a bit harder.
By all means buy it !!

5.0 out of 5 stars HOLY TOLEDO... THIS BAND RAWKS!!!, July 30, 2006
This review is from: One & Done Ep Live (Audio CD)
Seeing this band live is a life changing experience, especially if you are not too fond of female rockers. She has changed my opinion of female rock! Lzzy Hale, of the band Halestorm, not only f*cking RAWKS, but she is very easy on the eyes - hot, HOT as a matter of fact- and such a nice person to meet. The entire band made it a point to meet all their fans and didn't rush us through like so many bands. They talked to each one of us and genuinely wanted to know some personal things about every fan! Lzzy's voice is the best female rock voice I have ever heard and I know this band will be very successful. Total entertainment from start to finish, they leave you wanting more. I bought the CD and just love it because it's the same on disc as live!!!!!! This is a must see/hear band if they come within 200 miles of your hometown. I, for one, cannot wait until they are back in range again, I will be a fan for life! Buy the CD, it's worth every penny!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Record... Way Better Live, July 2, 2006
This review is from: One & Done Ep Live (Audio CD)
First of all i'd just like to say that this girl Lzzy has a phenominal voice. She can really play the guitar two. She is definately a real rock chick. Unfortunately her truly incredible set of pipes can't be fully appreciated on this cd as it is not the best production level. They were simply incredible when i saw them live openin for shinedown and trapt. That energy and crisp sound is somewhat lost here on this record. This cd is still very good though. This band is for real and im sure we will be hearing alot from them in the future. Cant wait for a studio album with better quality production so Lzzy's voice can really shine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not Bad..., May 24, 2006
This review is from: One & Done Ep Live (Audio CD)
Halestorm is a band a buddy of mine saw live, opening for Shinedown and Trapt; Apparently they weren't bad, so he bought the CD. I've never seen Halestorm, I've never heard of Halestorm...This was a first experience. Frankly, they're not bad at all. The band consists of four people; A female vocalist/guitarist named Lizzy Hale, guitarist Joe Hottinger, bassist Josh Smith, and drummer Arejay. This CD is a live album recorded in Philadelphia consisting of 5 songs. Since I haven't heard studio versions, if studio versions even exist, all my opinions are based solely on these versions. I want to start off by saying, a lot of rock guys hate when chicks sing or play guitar in a rock band...But this chick is a real rock chick and she's got a pretty damned good voice and she can play guitar. She has my respect. Here's the tracks:

1. It's Not You-5/5-This song isn't that bad. Singer/Guitarist Lizzy Hale has a pretty good voice. The lyrics aren't terrible for a hard rock band and the song is pretty damn catchy.
2. The Hand-5/5-This song has interesting lyrics...I said interesting, not neccesarily good. The chorus is very cool.
3. Show Me-5/5-This song is not bad either, it has some really good basslines in it.
4. Blue Eyes-4/5-The weakest song on here.
5. Takes My Life-5/5-Hale does some screaming at the end of the song and it's pretty damned impressive.

My friend says they were much better live than on this CD and, technically, this isn't like a 5-star CD in the same way a Led Zeppelin or Rush CD would be. But, all tthe songs are good. So...
GRADE: A-

5.0 out of 5 stars Halestorm One and Done Live EP, August 25, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: One & Done Ep Live (Audio CD)
Best live cd ever featuring the best band ever! This is Halestorm the way they were meant to be heard. Live, uncut, unedited, no overdubs. It features Lzzy hales signature vocals and growl which words cannot describe. There are five unbelievable songs that will have to hooked instantly from Lzzy's acapella opening to It's Not You to the end of Takes My Life. It is high intensity old fashioned blues style hard rock that can be enjoyed by everyone. If you like this try their self title debut album Halestorm.

Just stumbled upon Halestorm when I saw they were going to open for Shinedown at a concert I am going to very soon. This was the only CD out for them at the time and this is a very good live album and gives you the full flavor of their intensity. When I listen to it I can't wait to actually hear them live. You should also check out their full lenth album that has come out recently. I purchased the extended version, as you should to. You won't be disappointed at all, unless you don't get the extra songs. Then you should be disappointed you didn't spend the little extra money to get those. Halestorm is going to become big. Just wait!

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't pass them up, July 5, 2006
This review is from: One & Done Ep Live (Audio CD)
Halestorm is one of those bands that will simply blow you away. I know that from experience and seeing it live a second time and hearing people's reactions. The 1st song on this EP, "It's Not You" is what they choose to open their set with a lot and it is a beautiful example of how you'd never expect this kind of sound out of a band with a female singer. Which brings me to another statement, Halestorm is by far the greatest band I have ever heard with a female handling vocals and ranks very high on my list of bands that put on an amazing live show. Being very fan-friendly also makes this band well-received. This 5-song EP doesn't do them justice, go out and see them live for an experience you will never forget!

4.0 out of 5 stars Local band makes it, April 29, 2006

Glad to see this band finally release something. She has such a great voice.

NOTE: Ann Wilson was the lead singer of Heart with the powerhouse voice. Nancy's voice is softer....just as great, but softer than Ann's.
