Book Description

March 27, 2000
A multicultural history of the United States from one woman's perspective. Using family artifacts and fascinating tidbits of American history, the book provides a broad portrayal of the early years of our country with detailed chapters on the last five decades of the twentieth century. The basic theme interwoven throughout the narrative is "One Drop," the concept that anyone possessing any black blood is considered to be black.

About the Author

The author traces her family tree back to the Mayflower, with relatives who settled the Northwest Territory. She is currently married with grown children and grandchildren. Her central thesis for One Drop, the basic racial concept of the United States, is based on her own "drops" of African American blood. She is currently at work on another "blockbuster," a modern myth featuring slain rapper Tupac Shakur.
