This album has the same commercial feel as No Time To Kill but I think it is a little better as the songs are better written. The best songs here are One Emotion and Life Gets Away. The latter has a similar sound to When My Ship Comes In but isn't as good. Summer's Comin' is an okay beach song but the video was repulsive. Clint's Wife Lisa is among the many celebrites in this video with Joey Lawrence being the most annoying. And who does Clint think he is fooling with "I Can Get By" which is a clone of "Tuckered Out" from his last album. The closing song, "You Made Me Feel" is pretty good but would be considered pop but is a welcome finale to a mediocre album.

This CD Has Some Great Songs On It. The Lead-Off Single "Untangling My Mind" Is One Of My Favorites. The Second Single "Where Ever You Go" Is A Sad Song. Two Other Favorites Of Mine Are "Summer's Coming" And The Title Track. This CD Is A Must Buy.

Ive listened to Clint since I was little and I recently started to listen to him more. I notice his cds on Amazon are selling for a penny so I got a few cds. This cd was a good buy. I dont understand how some people called it pop, when its pure country. I like Clint because he writes his songs, instead of 3 or 4 people doing it for them like most country artist. Plus he plays an electric guitar, harmonica, and I love the way he sings. This cd includes some big hits like Summers Coming, Whereever You Go, and my favorite Life Gets Away. There is not a filler track on this whole cd, its a very good buy for a country fan. Highly recommended.

Clint has a great distinctive voice. While this album contains wonderful songs like 'You Made Me Feel' (this album's masterpiece, very jazzy), 'Untanglin' My Mind', 'A Change In The Air' (beautiful ballads), 'Wherever You Go' (groovy) and 'You Walked By' (great swinger), it also has its dull or let's say, ordinary moments with oh-so-radio-friendly tunes like 'Summer's Comin', 'Life Gets Away' and 'Hey Hot Rod'. Clint is a classy singer and he succeeds in lifting these songs to the no-more-than-average level but I think he deserves songs better suited to his talent.

Clint Black is a talented singer/songwriter/musician. Every song on this album was written or co-written by him. His voice is one of the most recognizable in country music. Some people have complained that there are not enough slow songs on this album...well, that may be true, but so what. This is an album with songs that can make you happy, make you sad, make you wanna dance, and make you think about life. One of the best, lyrically, on this album is "Wherever you go". In fact, read the lyrics to all of the songs, and you will see what I mean by the title of this review. If you are a fan of Clint's then you should have this album.

Only three of the songs on Clint Black's album One Emotion are slow songs--"Untanglin' My Mind", "A Change In The Air", and the closing song, "You Make Me Feel". This is not how Clint started out. The majority of his early hits--"Killin' Time" and "A Better Man"--were well-crafted slow songs. On One Emotion, outside of the three songs I previously mentioned, every song is upbeat. The best of the remaining songs are "Summer's Comin'", "Wherever You Go", "Life Gets Away" and the title track, "One Emotion". "I Can Get By" has a similar arrangement to Clint's hit "We Tell Ourselves", but I think the latter song is better. Furthermore, I think "Hey Hot Rod" and "You Walked By", although good musically, could have been better written. Nevertheless, although Clint went kind of commercial on this one, I give him credit for doing different things than he had already done in his songs. I also give him four stars.

Right here is where the full betrayel goes down. There were hints on the last cd, but I thought it was just an off effort. But no, here he gives us a whole album of pop filler songs. I don't think I kept this cd for 2 months before I traded it in. I hope one day he straightens out and returns to his country sound. Stay away from this cd. The only reason I gave this 2 stars is because of the fantastic cover and all around packaging.

This is a weird thought in a way, but when i review his greatest hits collection, i put a 2 stars on it. My opinion is that this one is better than "his greatest hits". It`s the country ballad One Emotion, Track 1 which kicks my soul into gear. This solid work from a country song perspective. Track 2 Summer`s commin, kicks off a little ( and is included on the greatest hit`s collection). Track 3 Untanglin` my mind is anyway a let down, from the good startin` standard with the to first tracks. Track 4 Wherever you go is also right there in the middle. Not to smart to lift it up on a higher "star" level to say. Track 5 A change in the air, could be a musical "change in the air" but it is not, sorry to say. It`s a stream of country cliches put together, not in a narrative interesting structure that we long for. Track 6 Life get`s away, is the best one on this Cd, with it`s hybrid "poor mans" The Cure sound picture as a background carpet trough the song. Track 7 I can get by

is an uptempo "walkalong" country song,which have some flair and credibility. Track 8 Hey hot rod, has a certain "rock and roll" feel over it, but the song has too much, too soon, musical elements inputs here and there. Track 9 You walked by has a certain "joodle yiaah" flair all over. It`s fun, it`s short, and it`s ok. Track 10 You made me feel is an emotionless ballad, and that`s not what Clint Black try to tell us all trough the song. It`s called, "not hit the mark" in other words. Track 11 A good run of bad luck, is ok, but nothing more. Track 12 A bad goodbye is a good ballad for a change, with Wynonna also on the vocal, wich lifts Black as a country artist right up there with the classic country artists much thanks to Wynonna`s tribute. When she`s click in she bring`s more emotion to the CD, that Clint Black does with his "one emotion". If you are satisfied with One Emotion, this CD is probably ok, but if you want more try some other artists.
