Book Description

Two cops…
Bibi Ferrer, San Diego homicide, receives a warning: Billionaire Anson Williams, will be done in by his new wife, Alexandra. Despite her best efforts, Bibi fails to prevent Williams’ death. Worse, she can’t prove Alexandra is the killer. All she can do is follow Alexandra to her Caribbean lair, the island of St. Bertram.
Things are even more personal for retired Chicago police captain Terry Dunne. His younger brother is killed by a contract assassin. His only clue: The hit-man might have unfinished business waiting for him on St. Bertram.
Two killers . . .
Avice Toussaint, formerly Alexandra Williams, isn’t every man’s idea of a knockout—only those with a pulse. She’s bored with luring wealthy men to their deaths. Problem is, her father wants her to continue. He’s ex-KGB. He kills people who defy him, no exceptions made for family.
George Beecher was an SAS commando, a master of combat. He was far less suited to following orders. After his court martial and discharge from the military, he continued to do the only thing he knew how: kill people. This time for money.
One plan . . .
Bibi and Terry cross paths. Not wanting to alert their prey, they decide to shadow each other’s killer. Get the goods on the killers and see that justice is done.
It’s a plan…but when do those things ever work out?

5.0 out of 5 stars Laziest Review in The World June 17, 2012
By PwrShop
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have read almost all of Joseph Flynn's books and I like them all. They sell for a great price on Kindle and the writing quality is superb. This is going to be a lazy review because I've read so many of his books I don't want to review each one. Just know, I have read a lot of 'under 3 dollar' books, and you will not find a better quality book in this price range.

Only thing I find odd are some of the names he gives his characters. He is not a fan of the 'john smith.' Sometimes I think he throws scrabble tiles on the floor to create them, but that's not really a complaint, just an observation.

If I had a complaint it would be that I have now worked my way thru his books, and I have nothing left to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars One False Step October 17, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
5 Stars for Flynn's new thriller One False Step. It's a fast-paced, tension-building read set on a beautiful Caribbean island. The book is filled with quirky characters: island locals, killers on the run, cops on the trail, French pirates, and approaching hurricanes. It builds to an exciting and satisfying finale. I couldn't put it down!

A thriller from beginning to end , set in a virtual paradise. The characters are well developed. The plot is well established. Hard to put down. Great book Joe.

3.0 out of 5 stars OK a little slow in places March 10, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
An interesting read. Good character development. The occasional reference to partner in San Diego was undeveloped. Many unfinished story lines. Unnecessarily complicated characters and names. All and all, I enjoyed it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Read - another winner from Joseph Flynn September 3, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is another great read from Joseph Flynn! He has mastered the "who done it?" and keeps you reading far into the night, unable to put the book down. Bibi Farrar is the main character in this book and it is great to follow her journey to get her man in the far reaches of the Caribbean. Keep them coming, Joe!

3.0 out of 5 stars One false step November 20, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Like so many of this authors books - this feels like a make for TV movie script. Not necessarily bad but get a bunch of crazy plot turns and character views that keep you reading and are ok but tired me out. Good book. Not great book

5.0 out of 5 stars Another homerun from Joseph Flynn! October 16, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
One of my favorite books by Joseph Flynn, this one was particularly interesting to me because of its Caribbean setting. More great characters, including cops, killers and pirates, all on a beautiful Caribbean island with a hurricane on the way. The suspense of the hurricane bearing down on the island reminded me of the flood scene from Digger, heart pounding suspense and thrills. An altogether great read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Over the top fun! November 22, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Vince Flynn is a masterful author! I've loved every story I've read of his. This one is super fun. A wonderful cast of characters..all with their own agendas....as they converge on St. Bertram, a Caribbean island. Some looking for justice, some revenge; others looking to escape justice, others to commit crimes. All are interwoven and racing to succeed on their chosen path just as the largest hurricane is headed their way. One False Step.......that's all it takes as each nears their goal, one wrong step and the gig is up. I am amazed how the author ties each story line to the other, and worked out all the complexities in the characters and side stories. This would be a fantastic movie!

2.0 out of 5 stars Predictable
Worn out plot, uninteresting characters, knew the whole story by the end of the first chapter. Dull as dishwater. Dumb.
