The overall score could not be excellent, but if you've loved the movie you need it. It'll give you goosebumps each time you fly trough the "Act of love"

This description fits the score to the brilliant film "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" to a T. The entire flow of classic composer Jack Nitzsche's soundtrack is delightful. Every piece of music sparks a different emotion. Definitely of equal caliber to the film. If you're in need of music for pleasure, Jack Nitzsche's score to "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" will do the trick.

Excellent soundtrack. The songs with symphony music are really relaxing. I especially like the song called Bus Ride to Paradise because when I play it in my car I can picture in my mind what happens in the movie when I hear this song. Also I guess it makes me feel like I'm taking a car ride to paradise with Jack. Ha Ha. I also like the songs that have the Hawaiian sound to them.

3.0 out of 5 stars why did the producer alter the final song?, October 24, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest: Original Soundtrack (Audio CD)
This review does not focus on the music on the cd, but rather it focuses on the production of it. I have had the album of this for 25 years and have repeatedly played it for creative inspiration, and I've always loved the films closing track - and I purchased this cd to replace my well-worn album, and for some reason the producer felt it necessary to change the last song and repeat a verse thereby making the song longer. As a result the song doesn't flow properly and the crescendo is altered and is ultimately ruined. Shame on the producer who felt this was necessary. Shame. I will play my album instead.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Buy!, September 20, 2011

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is one of my favorite movies of all time. I watch the movie several times a year and never tire of it. I was glad when I finally found the CD. The music is superb and everytime I listen to it I'm reminded of the different scenes in the movie. Even if you have not seen the movie it's great easy listening music. Not for the fans of heavy metal or hard rock for sure but for the quiet types it's a sure bet. Very nice when you're curled up with a good book.

5.0 out of 5 stars BEAUTIFUL, August 26, 2006
By
This review is from: One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest: Original Soundtrack (Audio CD)
There are few musicians that I really miss, one of them is Jack Nitzsche. From his pure old-school movie soundtracks towards more experimental pieces like Cuckoo's Nest, his repertoire was amazing! Listen to this record and you hear the ultimate proof!

5.0 out of 5 stars umm juicy fruit, October 30, 2004
This review is from: One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest: Original Soundtrack (Audio CD)
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
