This review is from: One in Forty - The UFO Epidemic: True Accounts of Close Encounters with UFO's (Hardcover)
I for one am getting sick and tired of all these so-called Ufologists out there speculating on everything under the sun, in regard to UFOs and extraterrestrials.....If you are too, then this book is for you!You have to admire Preston Dennett's style. He is a straight-to the-point reporter of facts. If you're looking for the latest specualtion on when the aliens will welcome us into the galactic federation, or how we need to shape up before they come and destroy us, or why the aliens are stealing our babies and creating chimeras with them, then buy something else. If you want to read about personal encounter experiences, with no fluff or b.s. interjected, or worse yet, shoved in your face, then Mr. Preston Dennett is the author for you. Bottom line is this: If your sole interest in UFOs is for their entertainment value, or how much the author can shock you, then get a subscription to the Weekly World News instead of buying some of these wacko books out there--it's cheaper in the long run, and the newspapers will burn better when the Grey's come shut and off our nasty fossil fuel supply. If, on the other hand, you are interested in researching these things to try to understand what in heck is really going on out there, if you would like to know the truth, if you take these experiences seriously, then this is a great book for you. No totally rediculous, off the wall theories, just the facts.

This review is from: One in Forty - The UFO Epidemic: True Accounts of Close Encounters with UFO's (Hardcover)
This book is full of many alien encounter stories that I bet most people have never heard about (which is why i gave it three stars). The author went to a lot of trouble making this book- he must have interviewed everyone he put in the book, which is a lot of people by the way. Every chapter is about a different person's account, the chapters are fairly short(3-8 pages roughly), and there are many chapters. This book reads more like a reference book rather than a gripping non-fiction story such as Communion or something similar, the author just reports the facts/stories.So, if you wan't to get an overload of fresh alien witness accounts, then this book is for you. Don't expect much of a conlusion or many theories- the author's chapter called "conclusions" is merely just a re-hash of the events in his book assembled into chronological order, however though, he does have a short epologue with some pretty standard hypotheses. Overall, this book is essential for its accounts, but that's about it, there's no groundbreaking assumptions/theories mentioned.
