This girl has got it all. The looks,voice,body etc...... She really know how to sing this song. This song reminds me a lot of me my ex. This is one of my favourite tracks in the album. I love it and suggest all of you out there buy & listen to it too. One simple warning though...... Once you have the album, you won't be able to put it down.

This maxi single is great for any Aaliyah fan!The first song is the radio mix for The one I gave my heart to song.Her vocals are great on this song!Its a shorter version of the origional.The second song is the origional hot like fire song.The third song is the Timbaland remix.Its the one from the music video.The fourth song is the feel my horns mix,it has some nice horns in it.The fifth song is hot like fire instramental.The last song is a rare non album track called Death of a Playa.This songs really good...You wont be dissapointed!

This song has a very nice melody and is one that gets you singing along right from the beginnig. Even though it's about the end of a relationship, it is a very beautiful song.

The One I Gave My Heart To is a classic Aaliyah song. This cd single contains the radio/video edit which in my opinion, is the better version of the song. She has always had the smooth singing voice but in this radio edit, Aaliyah greatly hits high notes that she never really used on any other of her records. It would have been nice to have more vocals like that by Aaliyah. The way she hits high notes like she did on the radio/video version are lovely. Great song. RIP Aaliyah

I LIKE THIS SONG BUT ITS REALLY SAD. I LISTEN TO THIS SON ALL THE TIME AND EVERY TIME I LISTEN TO IT IT JUST MAKES ME WONNA BREAK DOWN AND CRY. IF U HAVENT HEARS THIS SOND THEN U SHOULD.

What a great combination of singles fit on one maxi-single! The first one, The One I Gave My Heart To, is phoenomenal and extraordinary. It tells of love being shot down. The vocals are so great and the lyrics are the jam. Hot Like Fire, telling of a major hottie, is fresh. The beats and ad-libs are great and the remixes(especially Feel Mah Horns) best suit Aaliyah's voice and the song. Just when you thought the maxi-single's album and remixes were over, Death, an unreleased track is a great slow-medium song. I love Aaliyah's raspy voice and I'll miss her foreva.

When it comes to silky soft vocals riding effortlessly over hard-edged beats, Aaliyah was the prototype. Her sound was tagged "street but sweet", because no matter how rough the music was her crystal clear voice always possessed an angelic quality.

The One I Gave My Heart To, the sixth and final single from her 1996 album One in a Million, stepped away from Timbaland's signature sci-fi futuristic beats for a more delicate backdrop. Penned by the queen of schmaltz Diane Warren, Aaliyah wonders how the same man she loved with all her heart could hurt her the most. "How could you just walk out the door?/How could you not love me anymore?/I thought we had forever/Can't understand!"

The single version has an Adult contemporary style with a delicate Spanish guitar and agilic background vocals. Not to mention Aaliyah shows off an impressive range not many people knew she had. Much like her idol Sade, Liyah's recordings were usually laidback, but her live performances enabled her to break out more.

It's too bad the fifth single Hot Like Fire didn't make a bigger splash on radio. Sporting flirtatious vocals and a smoothly understated background, Aaliyah promises her boyfriend that one day they'll be intimate, but they have to wait until the time is right. "You shouldn't rush it, take our time/I'll let you know when I'm ready/If that's alright/I won't keep you, I won't keep you, I won't keep you holdin' on/But if you wait on me, I promise you it won't be long." One of the few songs to promote safe sex without coming across self-righteous or preachy.

Hot Like Fire and The One I Gave My Heart To are just two of the incredible songs from One in a Million. Whenever the album is back in print here in the States (or if you can find affordable copies on Ebay or the Amazon Marketplace), be sure to pick it up. Her final self-titled record too.

In years, I had been listening to the album version of "The One I Gave My Heart To", and wondering when will I be able to find the single version again. Finally !! I got it !!
The vocal opening of this version is so touching, beautiful and make me remember passed love.
I keep listen to this single again and again. Aaliyah and Diane Warren combine, did a wonderful piece of music, which will last and be remembered --- just like old loves .......
