Editorial Reviews

For anyone who has grown annoyed by the music industry's habit of selling songs with sex rather than substance, singer Marti Dodson has an album for you. It's more like a movement As her band mates exorcise their inner rock god on the hard-charging, hooky One Girl Revolution turning the band's third disc into perhaps their most electrified outing Dodson urges her fans to be themselves and to reject how females are treated in the music industry and in the media. If Saving Jane's previous disc, Girl Next Door (Toucan Cove/Universal), was a bit more sedate, on One Girl Revolution Dodson and company didn't hesitate to plug in and rev it up. Get ready for the revolution for it will be televised.

5.0 out of 5 stars A phenomenal album by a great down to earth band! September 24, 2007
By K. Knox
Format:Audio CD
If you are familiar with Saving Janes first album then you already know that this band is destined for greatness. One Girl Revolution is just as good! Marti has a beautifully unique voice that is second nature to her. I had the honor of seeing them live and she sounds perfect and the band is tight. They are also a friendly band who doesn't mind taking the time out to meet and talk to their fans. Her lyrics are meaningful and all the songs are catchy. This band is not caught up in all the commercial BS, they are raw, natural talent who sing and play from their hearts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Saving Jane does it again!!! August 12, 2007
Format:Audio CD
I first heard Saving Jane on the top 40 with "Girl Next Door." This time I heard her on a Sirus station. They do not get played much, but this group is AWESOME. This new CD has some GREAT songs. The lead off single "One Girl Revolution" is another Chick anthem. very good lyrics and good beat. Another one of my favorite songs is "From the Sky." I play that song over and over! Other highlights are: "What I didn't Say", "Nicotine", "Say Please" & "Let me down Easy." At first listen to the beginning of "Better Day" I thought she was going to be doing a remake of "Torn." It has the same melody and I thought Martie would sing the heck out of it....was kinda a let down when it turned out not to be Torn, but "Better Day" turns out to be ok anyway. This group is one that should be getting more attention. The songs and lyrics are good. Give it a try. If you liked "Girl NExt Door" you will enjoy this one too.

3.0 out of 5 stars Just Okay January 15, 2008
Format:Audio CD
I liked the first CD from this I bought the second one. It's okay...nothing that's going to knock you off your feet, but still has some nice beats to it. Say Please is a very touching song.

3.0 out of 5 stars Subjective June 11, 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Music is a very subjective thing - there's one good tune that my wife heard on Pandora so she wanted this CD - not my cup-o-tea.

This is a pretty good singer. Of course what you like matters most. The music is med high energy with good lyrics and a voice that you can hear and understand.
