I've just listened for the first time to this, the third CD by Sons of the Never Wrong, and their vocal and instrumental lines are even lusher and tighter than on their first two, must-have, recordings, "Three Good Reasons" and "Consequence of Speech."

On this recording, new Son Deborah Lader replaces Nancy Walker, and the group doesn't lose a bit (much as I loved Nancy's singing). Perhaps because of Deborah, perhaps because of the time the group has grown together, the overall tone of this recording is a little deeper, a little more serious, a little more mature than their first two. But if you liked those, I know you'll like "One if By Hand."

We're lucky to have this group together and playing today. Give yourself a treat and pick this CD up today, and don't miss the other two, or a chance to see "Sons" live!

If you're looking for insightful lyrics, beautiful harmonies, and a fresh new sound - this is it. Listen to Comet for a prime example of music that will really touch your soul. Then enjoy the rest.

Tracks 1, 4, 6, and especially 13 are phenomenal. Both this album & Consequences of Speech are must-buys. Their set at Old Town was the best act I saw last year: folkies who can toss up a Spector wall of sound.

I'll admit to a little grade inflation--the group could benefit from a stern producer. But they really are brilliant. At the end of our summer vacation, our unbiased nine-year-old ranked SOTNW as his second favorite group: above the Beatles, just behind Elvis Costello and the Attractions.

I can't praise this CD highly enough. "Comet" is a masterpiece and the surrounding tracks offer more of the Sons unique brand of poetry, philosophy, humor and heart. You can't go wrong when you purchase a Sons CD and you should treat yourself to a live show whenever possible.
