Un beau livre!!
This is a great addition to the coffee table book lover's collection and a great gift for the Foodie/Gourmand. You can't help but have an appreciation for France's time-honored traditions of enjoying good food and good wine. The regions of France are mapped out for you with a guide to which towns are highlighted in the book. Used as a quick reference book, you can quickly find out which epicurean delight any of the regions are best known for. Address, telephone and website information is also provided for a variety of stores, hotels and restaurants for each town featured. You can easily lose yourself in this book with stunning photography and well written descriptions. If you've been to France - you'll want to go back. If you've never been to France, you will want to go for sure. This could be the foodie's travel guide to France.

This is a beautiful coffee table book. It covers all of the regions of France and the major towns in each region. It has beautiful photos and contains interesting detailed information about each town - its history and what it is famous for - wine, food and other things.

The potential of this book was unrealised. I found that the images of these "beautiful" towns were not that beautiful. Colour often washed out and missing the captivating images the towns possess. I didn't gain much useful information about the food and wine of the areas apart from a product linked to the town. Something of good restaurants or dishes in each town would have been more rewarding.

This book is a spa for the eyes. Not only are the photo's beautiful, but you see each French regions claim to fame.
Many of the things we associate with Paris are actually from some where else in France....Foie gras from Fleurance in Pyrenees; Brie cheese from Meaux; Cognac from Cognac. Only the Baguette is Parisian. This book makes you feel you have taken a month vacation by car visiting each region of France and sampling all the culinary wonders France has given the world. Although I am a Vegan, I found it useful as to where and what NOT to eat; such as the white wormlike eels that look like pasta in Nantes or the duck blood broth dishes of Rouen in Normandy.

Very pretty book. I wish it had more photos of dishes prepared using the local ingredients along with the brand placement. Regardless, it makes me wish I were back in France as I peruse the regions.

I was transported back to rural France; the sights and smells the beautiful images in this book evoked returned and I was once again tucking into a delicious cassoulet and a fragrant glass of Rose in the Languedoc region of France .
