Sue Jane Sullivan, B.S.Ed., teaches in the only school in the only town in Borden County, Texas. That rural school is not far from the area where she grew up, surrounded by ranches, farms and oil wells. Like most people in farming and ranching areas, she can and does fill many roles. She teaches English, Spanish, history and government and coaches Interscholastic League literary events including debate, journalism, and spelling. She's a free-lance newspaper writer and her newsletter, 'A New Song,' is a regular source of encouragement for the special group of friends for whom she publishes it. A major inspiration for her work is her maternal grandmother who was widowed at 41, during the Great Depression. She managed to keep and operate the family farm and raise five children long before the term single parent was invented.

Book contains approximately 3 page interesting and sometimes humorous health care articles and wholesome living options that are uplifting, common sense treasures. My wife read aloud one chapter each eventing and what a wonderful way to end a day of hectic activity. We have given 3 copies to friends and never recieved such nice thank you notes.

Doses of laughter and inspiration,

This review is from: One Hundred Doses (Paperback)
An enjoyable and personal compilation of advice, wisdom, and humor for women who have experienced life in a rural area or those who never leave the city. Jones writes from the knowledgeable perspective of a nurse and professor and dispenses sound advice with a twist of rural practicality. Sullivan, on the other hand, has a gift for looking at life around her in a humorously philosophical way. I found myself chuckling while often nodding my head in agreement. You will recognize people you know in the entertaining stories presented here...I know I did.
