This isn't a real bad cd, it's just not up to par with some of his other releases. There are some pretty good songs on here but the whole cd just doesn't grab you like his other releases do.

This is one man who is a superior storyteller! The lyrics that this man has written are fantastic! They are also about real life circumstances.
Big Al starts his new CD, One of a Kind, with a magnificent patriot tune that he penned titled "Hometown America." His following option of tunes is a little country number with a touch of the blues called "A Cigarette, a Bottle and a Jukebox" which is about drinking away the tears of a lost woman. I treasure this man's taste in composing his lyrics! The next song about a lost love is "Loves Tragedy". On this song, you can hear the richness of Big Al's magnificent voice. The hymn that gets to me is "Jesus It's Only Me Johnny." This is one hymn that I wish everyone could hear at least once! A very true to life hymn!
..."He said Jesus it's only me Johnny ...I need to talk to you right now... You see I've got myself a problem... maybe you can help me somehow."
At times, we all have been there. A change of pace but still an awesome tune about choices is "Talkin the Talk." It is a wonderful ditty about doing what you need to be doing instead of what you want to be doing. Big Al wanted us all to think about choices on this CD. "I'm Too Green to Be Blue" is another track about the decisions that we make in our existence. I can hear Big Al setting at a piano in a bar and telling me the story of this outlandish ballad "Joe's Truck Stop." On to a more upbeat number - a great little dance ditty titled "Boogie-Woogie Roll". A love that can only be found between a man and a woman is heard in "She's a Miracle to Me." One more tune about choices is "Goodbye My Love", which is about the pain of having to leave the one you love because you can no longer deal with the pain caused. "What a Man Will Do (A Woman Will Too)" is a superb song about the decisions that we make in our generation. An off-the-wall religious hymn is "I'm Raisin' Hell."
..."I'm raisin' hell with heaven on my mind ... I try to do what's right but the devil keeps kicking my behind ... I'm raisin' hell with heaven on my mind ... This maybe the closet thing to heaven that I will ever find".
"I Never Got Over You" is a exquisite love song that we have all seen in that someone special who is always sneaking back into your mind long after they are gone from our lives. Usually, they never knew how you really cared for them. "Rock Me Baby" is an excellent song full of passion to place at the end of this CD.
This is a well-composed CD that contains various songs about the many choices we chose to make in our life situations. A ravishing composed CD that would fill an empty slot in any collector's cabinet. I have extremely enjoyed this one!!!
