Book Description

The last place Claire Woodward wants to be is standing on the dock, waiting to embark on a cruise to celebrate her ten year high school reunion. Her high school career was a disaster and her life following graduation didn't improve—divorced, recently fired from her job and no prospects on either front. But she’s reluctantly talked herself into going, hoping maybe it can jumpstart her life in the right direction. And given that she’s checked the RSVP list obsessively and knows with certainty that Griffin Benson won’t be on the cruise, she figures she can live through it.

Griffin Benson has one regret in his life—breaking up with Claire Woodward before their senior Prom. It’s haunted him for the last decade and he’s been waiting ten years to apologize. When he sees that she’ll be on their high school reunion cruise, he thinks the time has finally arrived to say he’s sorry and to maybe pick up where they left off. He waits until the last moment to sign up, making sure she’ll be on that ship.

When Claire arrives for the start of the trip, her bad luck continues—the cruise line has mishandled her reservation and she’s without a room on a sold-out cruise. There’s only one empty bed on the vessel…and it just happens to be in Griffin Benson’s room, which he’s more than happy to let her have.

Reluctantly, Claire agrees to the arrangement and is immediately torn by her reunion with Griffin—does she hold steady to her vow that she won’t let him break her heart again? Or does she forgive him and rekindle the spark that is so clearly still there? Should she give Griffin one last chance?

2.0 out of 5 stars Did not like. March 21, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I wanted to like this book. The premise was interesting but man did I loathe the heroine, Claire. An error in the Cruise's computer leaves her without a room and they can't refund her money right away because of corporate policies. She yells at the employees on the ship right away and generally makes an ass of herself. I know it's a frustrating situation but how someone treats others tells you about their personality and it made me dislike her right from the get-go. Then she's pretty much a psycho beyotch to the hero (though she does acknowledge this). Then there is the issue of her weight. Claire is feeling insecure because she gained 10 pounds that "feel like a million". Then later she mentions that she had to buy a whole new wardrobe because of those ten pounds. Uhm, okay. Then later she explains that those ten pounds took her from a size ZERO to a size FOUR. First, do ten pounds actually put you up four sizes? Second, oh the humanity! Claire needed prozac. Oh and the kicker for me is when she mentioned that most of the ten pounds went to her chest. Wait, what? I don't know what the authors intent was by having Claire be unrealisticlly thin, busty and complete oblivious to being attractive at all. She also makes a big deal at the beginning about how unnoticed she was in high school and how she was was nothing special and not attractive and then later mentions that she had a string of boyfriends as a teenager, so many that the hero had to wait to catch her between them to ask her out. But she's totes not pretty you guys! Ugh.

The hero was okay. These characters have very little depth at all so he was fine. He didn't come across as sexy to me or even particularly interesting he was just there. Too perfect to be believed. The only other character in the story was such a cardboard cutout.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cute story March 3, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This book was definitely just that.. a cute story. The main characters were adorable! You were really able to feel how much they really missed each other and how they so wanted to start over again, but were so nervous about it not knowing if it would turn out the way they hoped.
Overall, it kept to the story, there wasn't any unnecessary characters, and never veered to far from the main story. I would recommend this book for anyone who is looking to read a feel good story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great short read!!! February 17, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This book was a book club pick and was, short but sweet. When we read it, I didn't have a lot of time to read a 400+ pager, so this was just right. The author got you right into the characters and the story. Great quick read. Our entire book club enjoyed it.

Seriously stupid predictable book. I didnt even care if they ended up together. Dont waste your time. If it had been free it would have been too much to pay.

It was an easy read but the book was rather predictable. Nothing that throws you for a loop but not bad

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok
Ok quick read. Good for a light beach read. Nothing heavy. A little redundant. This was a free read for me. I probably wouldn't have paid for it though.
