This book is a wonderful historical memoir of one of the most daring and well-written shows on daytime.
Not only does it chronicle the show's rich history, it includes wonderfully bright and vivid color photos of many of the most-loved actors/actresses/characters that have been on the show.
I highly recommend this book to all fans of OLTL!

I eagerly await the publication of this book about ABC soap opera ONE LIFE TO LIVE. If it is anything like the author's first two books (on ALL MY CHILDREN and GENERAL HOSPITAL) then it promises to be outstanding. Those books are regarded by soap fans on the internet as the source authority. The book are filled with wonderful photos and amazingly interesting storyline memories.

My applause to all the people who put together this book. This book brought back so many memories of everything that has happened in the last 30 years of One Life to Live. This book also has very good photos and a very informative list of characters and the actors who played them.

OLTL: 30 Years of Memories provides hundreds of photos, and yearly reviews that will bring back many memories for long-time fans of the show, but we'll have to wait for a more in-depth analysis of daytime's most literate drama. OLTL has long been noted for it's daring storylines from 1968's story of a young black woman passing for white (even viewers were led to believe she was white) and the early 70's story of teenage drug addiction, to the 90's stories of a gay teenager coming out in a homophobic world and the gang rape of a young college student. All these stories were told with an unflinching raw realism that was riveting to behold, and unusual among the typical melodrama of the other daytime shows. For 30 years OLTL has been fully integrated, including Blacks, Hispanics, Jews, and even Asians in a genre that has more often than not been a haven for white WASPs. The daring drama attracted an acclaimed novelist to headwrite the show for much of the 1990's. 30 Years of Memories only scratches the surface of OLTL's incredible contribution to the world of daytime drama. Indeed, although this book will surely please many fans, OLTL's unique voice will have wait to be heard in a more compelling tome.

This book has all that any fan of 'One Life To Live' would want. You can relive the storylines through all of the recaps. The book features listings of every character to ever appear on the show, along with many pictures of past and present greats from the show. It is definitely a nostalgic trip down memory lane.

The book did a wonderful job of cramming 30 years into something that is totally enjoyable. I really can't think of anything that was missed.

In April of 2011, when those fools at ABC/Disney cancelled my beloved One Life To Live, not only was I heartbroken, but I vowed to fight for my show. I, along with many other fans, gathered outside the ABC studio in Manhattan to give our support and love to the cast and crew of this wonderful show. Many of the fans were carrying this book and I was surprised that I didn't have it! Had to order it! Now that my show is back on line, the next time I go to the Connecticut studio, I'll be bringing it with me for autographs! Long Live One Life To Live!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As most "One Life to Live" and soap opera fans already know the series has been cancelled and will go off the air in January, 2012 to make room for a reality-based series. This book, written by soap historian and "One Life to Live" fan Gary Warner, is really a nice addition to anyone's home library and will be a good reminder to those ardent fans who have follwed this serial for over 40 years. The book is filled with pages of storyline details going back to the series' debut in July, 1968 and goes up until 1998, the show's 30th anniversary. Both black and white and color photos are included, and some neat behind-the-scenes info is added. Stars such as six-time Emmy winner Erika Slezak, Judith Light (who played housewife-turn-prostitute Karen Wolek), Robert S. Woods, and Robin Strasser are interviewed and there are chapters on the beginnings of the serial and what Agnes Nixon was trying to do with the message of the serial when it came to television in the late sixties.

This book is truely a treasure trove of "One Life to Live' memorablilia and although it is long out-of-print there are many copies floating around from private sellers.
