5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful history of one of the best daytime dramas ever!
This book is a wonderful historical memoir of one of the most daring and well-written shows on daytime.

Not only does it chronicle the show's rich history, it includes wonderfully bright and vivid color photos of many of the most-loved actors/actresses/characters that have been on the show.

I highly recommend this book to all fans of OLTL!

3.0 out of 5 stars This enormous volume should be well received by OLTL fans.
Unexptectedly huge in size and overall encompassing the general backstory of a show which deserves more attention than it has received, this ONcE in a LIFEtime book ultimately fails to capture the true essence of Llanview and its rich history--a history full of some of the most compelling contemporary drama ever to be seen on television (or anywhere else, for that...

5.0 out of 5 stars One Life To Live completes soap trilogy, December 13, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: One Life to Live: Thirty Years of Memories (Hardcover)
I eagerly await the publication of this book about ABC soap opera ONE LIFE TO LIVE. If it is anything like the author's first two books (on ALL MY CHILDREN and GENERAL HOSPITAL) then it promises to be outstanding. Those books are regarded by soap fans on the internet as the source authority. The book are filled with wonderful photos and amazingly interesting storyline memories.

This review is from: One Life to Live: Thirty Years of Memories (Hardcover)
This is a great look back at OLTL throughout the years. It is both informative as well as entertaining. The book is filled with pictures of almost every person who appeared on the show. It's fun to see how some of my favorites changed in looks over the years. Also, for us trivia buffs, this book is loaded with history! This book was my favorite present under the Christmas tree last year.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Scrapbook of treasured memories!, June 28, 1998

Kudos to Gary Warner and the people who assisted him, for his wonderful portrayal of One Life to Live, it's cast and it's characters in his latest book, "One Life to Live: Thirty years of memories." Brimming with large, bright photos, storyline memories, behind the scenes information, and much more, this scrapbook is sure to delight OLTL fans. What a huge undertaking, as well as a major accomplishment to be able to compress 30 years of memories into one book!

Also, kudos to Amazon.com for it's quick shipment of the book. I received my copy within 2 days of ordering.

4.0 out of 5 stars 30 Years of Television's Most Innovative Daytime Drama, June 23, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: One Life to Live: Thirty Years of Memories (Hardcover)
OLTL: 30 Years of Memories provides hundreds of photos, and yearly reviews that will bring back many memories for long-time fans of the show, but we'll have to wait for a more in-depth analysis of daytime's most literate drama. OLTL has long been noted for it's daring storylines from 1968's story of a young black woman passing for white (even viewers were led to believe she was white) and the early 70's story of teenage drug addiction, to the 90's stories of a gay teenager coming out in a homophobic world and the gang rape of a young college student. All these stories were told with an unflinching raw realism that was riveting to behold, and unusual among the typical melodrama of the other daytime shows. For 30 years OLTL has been fully integrated, including Blacks, Hispanics, Jews, and even Asians in a genre that has more often than not been a haven for white WASPs. The daring drama attracted an acclaimed novelist to headwrite the show for much of the 1990's. 30 Years of Memories only scratches the surface of OLTL's incredible contribution to the world of daytime drama. Indeed, although this book will surely please many fans, OLTL's unique voice will have wait to be heard in a more compelling tome.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great retrospective, February 23, 2006
This review is from: One Life to Live: Thirty Years of Memories (Hardcover)
This book has all that any fan of 'One Life To Live' would want. You can relive the storylines through all of the recaps. The book features listings of every character to ever appear on the show, along with many pictures of past and present greats from the show. It is definitely a nostalgic trip down memory lane.
The book did a wonderful job of cramming 30 years into something that is totally enjoyable. I really can't think of anything that was missed.

As an avid watcher of OLTL since I was in 6th Grade, this book has been a long overdue. It is chock full of events and photos of Llanview PA.For the current fans who watch Viki,Bo, Nora, Todd, Blair et al. This should satisfy all who crave the humble (and not so humble) beginnings of all these characters. Perusing through, I remembered and reminisced all the times associated with all the storylines. It Is a must Have for all the fans, who loved past characters like Joe Riley, Karen Wolek,Brad Vernon and Marco Dane. Lets hear it for the first 30 and heres to 30 more.
