A Brilliantly Written Travelogue!,
By
This review is from: One Life to Ride: A Motorcycle Journey to the High Himalayas (Paperback)
Ajit Harisinghani's style of writing takes you along with him on his travels. It's as if India is right before your eyes; the people, the villages, the rivers & mountains, the flora & fauna- infact, you can 'smell' every thing. And therein lies its beauty! Ajit has that rare talent which very few writers have- to capture in 'words', exactly what your eyes see.
Its a fun book & I would strongly urge everyone to read it.

Loved this book by Mr. Harisinghani .I have read some of his articles on the web and find him very ` read-able' .
One Life to Ride is truly a remarkable book about a remarkable journey to the Himalayas.Remarkable because after reading the book I thought " wow is this my country " ? It made me want to go out and do something out of the ordinary. There is great compassion, humour, spirituality in Mr. Harisinghani's writing .The description of his encounter with our jawans touched me to the core while his story of the nawab of Sindh was truly amazing. Great story telling ! I'm already looking forward to his next.

Great Airplane Read about a crazy motorcyle journey!,

This review is from: One Life to Ride: A Motorcycle Journey to the High Himalayas (Paperback)
I read this book on the flight from Mumbai to Chicago. I have never ridden a motorcyle but this book really makes you feel part of the adventure. When you see the map inside, you'll get a good idea how long of a ride this really is. And what's really interesting is this guy is not that young. It's hard to describe, but the way it's written is really captivating. The author has a very disarming way of writing, you quickly slip into the world he is describing. I'm curious now as to where this guy will ride next. You really get the urge to do some risk taking after reading this book. It's a great read, on a plane or otherwise. I would definitely recommend.
