4.0 out of 5 stars Quirky, odd, strange little movie with aspirations.. March 21, 2011
Format:Amazon Instant Video
Ignore the cover displayed as it makes the move appear to be be a babe exploitation flick from the 60's and has no connection with the film.

Honestly would never have seen this but I enjoy off-beat films and Amazon was nice enough to place it on the prime movie list.

An odd tail of the end of earth/time with a bit of style, humor and wit. I can understand why many will hate this little flick, my wife would have hit me until I flipped it off if she were present when I watched it. But if you enjoy the independent sifi/metaphysical film written with a bit of intelligence, humor and direction you may enjoy this as I did.

Best,
Joe

4.0 out of 5 stars Profound, if you can understand it. May 31, 2012

Quoted in the movie, the poem Tender Words by Rumi, sums up the feeling and plot of the movie,

"Tender words we spoke
to one another
are sealed
in the secret vaults of heaven.

One day like rain,
they will fall to earth
and grow green
all over the world."

The move takes a literal representation of the poems contained in the movie, also the German spoke poem Gefunden by Goethe [A good poem look it up on the Internet for the English version]
So basically, she spends the whole movie trying to help the world through her "inspired" thoughts from staring at water.
She gives her friend drugs then convinces her that she transformed a plant to a person (best guess at what was going on there, since the previous scene was "Who's Mary Carter Gina?") and then convinces her friend that she is transformed into a plant... Anyways, It all ends up that she needs to be with her boyfriend in order that rain falls on mars and everyone is saved ( at least the half that don't fall into a swamp).

Overall wonderfully filmed, only four stars because of the swearing, and parts that didn't quite connect with the vibe of the movie.

1.0 out of 5 stars Huh? January 23, 2013
Format:Amazon Instant Video
I started viewing this movie because of the good recommendations, I was cheated. Supposedly an end of the world movie but I didn't see it in the parts that I watched. This movie goes from bad to worse and then gets even worse. What is this movie about? Is there a point? It made no sense to me, seems to me that it's an Angsty movie about teenage angst, with extra angst and more teenage angst thrown in just to make it more Angsty. I kept trying to find a good spot in this film or at least something that would indicate what was going on, never happened. Apparently the director was smoking 'pregnant guppies' while he was filming, because this movie makes no sense at all, and probably wouldn't get better (even if you smoked a 'pregnant guppy'). Just don't bother, watch a test pattern or snow on you TV instead.

Definitely put this film at the bottom of your prime free viewing list. Perhaps if you are stoned this movie might make some sense...

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good January 22, 2012
Format:DVD
a bit abstract at first and dull and boring but it gains interest and pace as you watch, a very good thought and idea behind it of not treating this world badly and wonder at all the little things but some weird ideas in there also. overall a good movie and shot very well

4.0 out of 5 stars Compellingly Bizarre and Original. May 1, 2009
Format:DVD
I really enjoyed this film. I would describe it as a cross between Donnie Darko, Virgin Suicides, and Mulholland Drive. I thought about giving up on the film at a few points because it got a little too bizarre for my tastes, and I think that the dialog could have been a bit better (redeemed largely in the latter half of the film), but essentially I have never seen anything quite like it before. The young age of the main characters and protagonist throw an interesting twist on the traditional "metaphysical" film themes, although I suppose Donnie Darko used this same idea. I would have liked to get to know the protagonist a little bit better -- her character seemed a bit off the walls for me, and how she came to instigate this experiment (what motivated her to be self-actualized in this way) did not seem all that believable or credible because the audience never gets to know her character very well until the end of the film. All in all, this film takes you on an interesting experience. I really enjoyed the filming techniques and the soundtrack is amazing. I recommend this film for anyone who can handle "bizarre" films more firmly based around a concept than a plot.
