David Guetta, a renowned DJ released the album "One Love" and it has been taken by masses and has been doing phenomenally on the charts. The 15 track CD infuses the world of Techno music with the voices and sounds of some of the top artists in the music industry. David Guetta does an excellent job of fusing the different styles of music that the artists embrace into a mash up of his own ideals and visions.
The tracks embrace many aspects that are very clear in the history of technosonics music. The song "I Wanna Go Crazy" sounds much like the sounds of early computer music using the synthesizers. In the song one could hear the many points where there are multiple synthesized musical spikes in the song. The song also embraces the technique of looping. Will.I.am the artist in the song's lyrics are the driving force of the song. The lyrics of the song are used to drive the `crazy' experience that song is calling for.
Further David Guetta's music resembles music from the Techno musical centers of the world. The music resembles much of the music that one would hear in Ibiza or Argentina. One of the very positive aspects of the music that David Guetta creates for this CD is the combining of two very different types of music to make a sound that is very marketable to a crowd that may not embrace Techno music.
David Guetta's whole CD resembles much of the sounds of Goa Trance music, back to the days of Goa Gil. The music like Goa Trance music is hoping to get the crowd to go on a journey of musical fulfillment. The composition of the CD resembles a trek through a technological forest of lights and thumping music. This idea is created by embracing of concepts that are similar to Electronishe Muzik. The music uses wave generators, noise generators, filters, and ring modulators that are similar to the Electronishe Muzik.
Even further beyond the composition of the songs the lyrics of the songs embrace a narrative of partying and having fun. He grapples with love, deceit, and partying. In "I Wanna Go Crazy" the whole song is about being able to separate oneself from reality and `go crazy' and just have a good time. In "When Love Takes Over" it is very clear how lyrics are about the moment when someone falls in love and has no control of their feelings for the other person. The composition of the song only helps to build upon the concept of the song with the constant rising of the song that resembles the point in which `love takes over' and a person is completely in love.
David Guetta's CD is a masterpiece to say the least. It is being blasted on college campus and in the homes of many. David Guetta has become an icon for the face of Techno music. One can only hope for more great CD's from David Guetta and for him to constantly create more new and interesting ways to construct music.

Every artist has that one cd that get's them noticed. For David Guetta after two previous tries this one is it!! An excellent collection featuring varied dance styles from Hip hop to house with some of today's best vocalists like Kelly Rowland, Akon & Estelle. The first single, "When Love Takes Over" is a heart pounding throbber. While Akon's "Sexy B**H" takes the beat to entirely different direction with a wicked baseline! Also included is David Guetta's electro remix of "I Gotta Feeling" by the Black Eyed Peas. Estelle's rhythmic "One Love" is also included. While the album is a virtual "greatest hits"

MISSING KEY TRACKS:

I have one valid complaint. The U.S. version is missing two great tracks: "How soon is now" Featuring Julie McNight who was the vocalist in "Finally"; a song considered one of House Music's greatest ever and "Toyfriend" a raunchy upbeat song by Wynter Gordon that is as good as it gets!

Get this cd from Amazon Uk, if you can as it has a total of 16 tracks. It also has both version's of Akon's hit (clean and unclean.)

OR BETTER YET,

GET the ONE LOVE XXL (3 cd and 1 DVD Limited Edition boxset) featuring 13 extended tracks from the original version plus all the main remixes for SEXY BITCH and WHEN LOVE TAKES OVER. Included as well is a dcoumentary and video clips!
A MUST HAVE for any serious DJ or fan!!!

If you have any of the other one love albums, this CD is not worth it. Guetta, quit re-releasing your one love album with different names with most of the same tracks and only one or 2 new tracks. one love, one more love, one love special edition, one love 2010, it's hard to keep track... Between all the different editions you can fill 2 cds worth of distinct music but have to weed through tons of duplicate tracks on itunes. What they should have done is come out with a new album name and put all the bonus tracks from all the re-releases into one album. Coming from someone who has the original album, having to buy each new album for 1 or 2 tracks is a pain in the you know what. Even hunting down the new tracks through the download store is a huge pain. There isn't even a tracking listing for this album.....

This album is a combination of great club music and techno. The alum one love contains hits such as, Memories with kid cud, When love takes over- Kelly Rolland, and I gotta feeling- Black Eyed Peas. All of David Guetta's beats are produced from scratch. In this album he does not sample any songs which makes every track very fresh and original. Guetta does a great job of matching the beat very closely to the lyrics. When the voice cuts out usually a heavy beat will drop and the tempo will begin to increase. Unlike other DJ artist, Guetta does a great job in making sure each track sounds a bit different than the others. Lastly Guetta's guest appearances include some of the worlds greatest musical artist.

I bought this one and the Swedish House Mafia deluxe CD at the same time. This one is more instantly likable, mostly thanks to familiar voices and REALLY catchy beats. Im a big fan of Tony Moran, but now Im thinking that Mr Guetta is taking his place, cus this disc is just so lively! Lots of fun!

From his meager beginnings as a DJ in the Parisian gay club Broad, David Guetta has gone from strength to strength. He gathered a powerful reputation in both the gay and straight dance culture roping in fans from near and far. Then in 1992, fortune struck his DJ table and he met Robert Owens, a Chicago-based house music specialist who heard some of Guetta's own works and picked one to do his own vocals on. The resulting song was a hit called Up and Away. He also has the distinction of being the first French to organize Ibiza in 1996. Now in 2009, Guetta is releasing another album and being rumored to headline the 2010 Sydney Mardi Gras.

Since that time, Guetta has released four albums of his own work with the latest release One Love having just been released to the international music market. Featuring some of the biggest names in music today doing vocals on his album, the album with it's moving rhythms, solid vocal delivery and melodic beats is destined to be one of the biggest dance releases of this year.

By now, everyone has heard When Love Takes Over featuring ex-Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland. The soaring vocals combined with the intricate piano melodies have given the track mass air play worldwide. Guetta taps Rowland's talents again on It's The Way You Love Me which is going to be a welcome addition to Guetta's already extensive repertoire. It's never been a secret that Guetta is a talented song writer and his knack for knowing what the listener wants is in the spotlight with catchy lyrics, music and sounds that catch any listener's attention. The song also highlights Rowland's truly dynamic singing ability and why she has lasted song long in such a cut throat and fickle industry.

Not content to finish with Rowland there, he blends her talents with that of rapper Ne-Yo on the surprisingly stunning duet Choose. Guetta has successfully blended the two formidable industry heavy weights into one track and used his knowledge of what sound good in a club to good use. The almost trance sounding music blends nicely with Guetta's house music roots. The music at times does overwhelm the vocal delivery from both singers leaving the end feeling a little bit rough but still an eager listening experience.

No stranger to Guetta releases is Chris Willis who features on no less than three tracks throughout the album. His Gospel sounding voice rings out loud and proud over the tracks Getting Over which is reminisce of Guetta's other smash hit Love Is Gone, the last commercially released single between the pair. Willis also pops up on the outstanding track Sound of Letting Go which boarders on an electronic rock song. The background music almost falls prey to stereotyped dance anthems. It starts off with almost an early to mid-90's synth track and then becomes an almost synth heavy track that belongs more in a rock category. The overall effect makes it a track that will be played frequenty. Fortunately, Willis' voice is strong enough not to be overwhelmed by the musical backing and features beautifully about halfway through when the music makes a brief pause..

Guetta taps Willis one more time to finish off the album with the track It's Your Life. A piece that blends house and trance music beautifully. Guetta has shown an obvious keen interest throughout the entire album towards more trance music than his house music heritage. This track is a prime example with the hypnotic beats and repetitive riff that gets employed throughout the entire track. It's definitely evidence that Guetta is capable of succeeding in whatever genre he tries his hand at.

It would be unforgivable to not mention the inclusion of I Gotta Feeling by the Black Eyed Peas which Guetta helped write and produce for their album The E.N.D. earlier this year. The version on Guetta's album is the FMIF Remix Edit which has a more electronic feel than that on the Black Eyed Peas release.

To return the favor for working on their album, Will.I.Am features on two of Guetta's tracks On The Dancefloor and I Wanna Go Crazy. The eager rapping and smooth adaption of his skills towards the electronic music style shows that Will.I.Am is a diverse performer who can attempt and not just hip-hop which he is most commonly known for. His unique vocal stylings suit the tracks he's included on perfectly. Guetta has masterfully written the track to suit the singer's voice and it's in evidence just how successful this talent can be.

Enjoying much airplay at the moment is Guetta's song Sexy B***h featuring work with Akon. The singer has long been known for his melodic abilities and hip-hop attitude. Guetta has taken these two factors into account and has worked them together nicely creating a track that has an overall invitingly sexy appeal. The beat is one that you can tap your foot to quite easily and the backing music, as with many of the tracks, features an easily recognizable riff.

The saying is `save the best for last.' Guetta has obviously not subscribed to this philosophy as he's saved the best for track 11 where he unveils the album's crown jewel is the title track featuring Estelle. With Estelle's soulful voice, she belts out the track with practiced ease over Guetta's masterful command of any instrument he approaches. The blending of these two supremely talented artists results in a song that moves the body and has the head bopping along whether you realize it or not.

Showing that Guetta is truly a master of multiple dance genres is the ambient chill out track If We Ever featuring the talents of Makeba. The music is lush and the vocal delivery relaxed and liquid. If ever there was a track ready made for featuring and headlining a Ministry of Sound Chill-out volume, this is it. The track feels like it has just fallen into place easily and leaves you just wanting to lie back and bask in the sheer beauty of the song.

The album is an amazing piece of musical creativity with Guetta traversing several different dance genres. The well constructed house and trance beats meets the laid back ambience. Guetta then ropes in some of the biggest names in the hip-hop genre to add their own magic to his music. With names like Kelly Rowland, Ne-Yo and Akon, how can anyone not question just what makes this man so talented that these people are lining up to work with him. The truth is in the beats, the bass and the melody. The testament to Guetta's ability stands here in the finished product. One Love is a complete musical journey on it's own and an album which can be put on heavy rotation without fear of becoming bored with listening to it.

TOP 1000 REVIEWERon August 25, 2009
Format: Audio CD
French DJ/Producer David Guetta is obviously eyeing worldwide chart domination with this, his fourth CD. So far, in the UK at least, he's hit gold. Lead-off single the Coldplay "Clocks" pilfering "When love takes over" (with Kelly Rowland on vocals, her most powerful performance to date I must mention) topped the UK singles chart (and Billboards Dance charts), while the second single, the clubby "Sexy b*tch" with Akon is presently nestled at #1 in the UK.

The album is choc full of R&B stars; The afore mentioned Rowland, who appears again on "It's the way you love me" as well as with Ne-Yo on the rather skeletal and repetitive "Choose", will.i.am and apl.d.ap (from Black Eyed Peas), Estelle, and Kid Cudi to name check a few.

The album comprises high octane Dance songs aimed at the Clubs, and standouts include the groovy "Memories" (with Kid Cudi), the big voiced diva galloping Dance anthem "How soon is now" (with Sebastian Ingrosso, Dirty South & Julie McKnight), the simply brilliant haunting title track (with Estelle giving an impassioned performance on the power of love), the trancey "Sound of letting go" (with Chris Willis), and closing things on a chilled note, the swirling synth ballad "If we ever" (with Makeba).

While there's nothing groundbreaking here (in fact songs like "Gettin' over" with Chris Willis and "Missing you" with Novel feature his trademark "ticking" effect prominent on the Black Eyed Peas current hit "I gotta feeling" which was co-penned and produced by Guetta, and which in turn featured previously on his smash "Love don't let me go (Walking away)") and things tend to sound samey on the other songs, this is still a great dance album.
