Book Description

No stranger to death and heartbreak, Alex is a woman who knows that life can change in the blink of an eye. She also knows that love is something you fight for even when the timing is way less than perfect.

Alex has lost her husband and has been moved to an unfamiliar city in the middle of the night in nothing but her pajamas. She is being hunted by an unknown assailant. The only person she has left in the world is her husband's best friend and PI, Pedro. Until she meets a man that makes her feel things she didn't know existed outside the pages of a book.

Witness Protection Agent, Mac Rogers, is one of the few people that know who Pedro really is, and now Pedro has called for his help. Pedro never needs help. Mac knows that whatever it is, it must be important, but when he lays eyes on Alex he is not sure whether he is the best man for the job.

Pedro has known Mac since he was a child, and Mac is the only person Pedro will trust to protect Alex. Aware of Alex's striking looks, Pedro is a little concerned, but he knows Mac will always do the right thing.

Author's Note:
This is a fast-paced love story. Alex is a nurse who deals with death everyday. Her healthy, vibrant parents were killed in a car accident and her husband was just shot as he was sleeping. She knows that no one is guaranteed a tomorrow. Sometimes life throws things at us that we wish would come at a different time - whether it be five years ago or two years down the road.

“I assume you have questions.” Mac raised his eyebrows.
Alex nodded then started, “How do you know him? Why is he in a wheelchair? How did he know about the Blazer? What’s with the Jeep? And, how did you know he was talking about guns?” Alex rattled them off so fast she had to stop and take a breath.
Mac was grinning with his arms across his chest, studying her. “I used to work with him. He took a bullet saving one of his witnesses. It did some damage to his spinal cord. The Blazer is not really my type of car and you don’t look like the type to drive it, either. The jeep is armored and fast and has been modified with a wider wheel base so it doesn’t roll easily. And he can tell your size and does pretty well with clothes, but everyone has different opinions or comfort levels on guns.” Mac brought his arms down to his sides and moved closer to her.
Alex looked thoughtful for a minute, then nodded and said, “Okay.”
“Okay?” Mac was just six inches away from her and he was shaking his head and chuckling again, looking down at the floor. 'I’ll never figure this woman out,' he thought to himself.

1.0 out of 5 stars Just not right May 18, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Not sure that I want to finish this. Editing would have helped. Confusing horse with hoarse was distracting. Describing books one day and then stating the next day that she had just now noticed the books was dismaying. But seeing a woman whose loving husband has just been murdered getting charged up over another man was just unbelievable.

1.0 out of 5 stars Is there are rating lower than "I Hate IT?!?!" May 29, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Wow, first let me say somehow when I purchased this i thought this title was free, sadly i actually paid money for it! I did actually read this to the end, but barely. Somehow, somewhere I hoped this would improve. Normally I do not write reviews but this one aggravated me and I am still aggravated that I wasted my time and money! I enjoy my share of romance novels and can suspend my disbelief in storylines a lot for the sake of an hour or so mindless entertainment, and I kind of even can accept some of the silly storyline and poorly written character backgrounds. But in this book, the characters and lack of realistic emotion on top of this farce of a storyline. Ugh! Stay away. Our newlywed heroine is freshly widowed and hustled off for her own protection after her husband is murdered. Within days of her husbands murder, she's lusting after her protector. No mourning for her husband, no anger or betrayal that the man she married wasn't all she thought or hoped, no depth of any emotion whatsoever - just "oh well my husband was murdered, hey that US Marshall is hot" - The absolute lack of normal human emotions in our heroine grates on my nerves. I am so irritated with myself for purchasing this.

4.0 out of 5 stars Judge For Yourself October 31, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I got this book when it was offered for free and I am glad I did now - I had read the reviews before I got it and seen that a couple did not like it but I say each to their own opinions so my opinion is this - It was well written yes possibly a little drawn out in places, characters were likable and it had a good story line - so I say this judge it for yourself as I did enjoy it

4.0 out of 5 stars Witness protection type of story August 4, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The heroine definitely needs witness protection, but no one can keep her as safe as the hero and his PI friend. I thought the book was very realistic with very intense bad guys that were definitely not stupid. The hero was very noble. I will definitely read this author again.

More About the Author

My name is Kaylin Bowen. When I was younger, I hated to read. I thought books were just work-something you had to read so you could complete a book report. The books I was "encouraged" to read were boring and I would rather clean my room (I really, reeaaalllly hated cleaning my room). Then one day I found a book my mom had just finished reading. I was in high school by that time and, while I can't remember why in the world I decided to read it, I do remember that the author was Dean Koontz and the book was Watchers. Many, many pages into it, I realized I had been sucked into an alternate world for a little while. For the first time in my life I actually finished a book. I read everything of his that I could get my hands on. Eventually, I found authors like Nora Roberts, Jennifer Cruise and Janet Evanovich. I was hooked. I loved romance. Now, I write it. My style of writing is a little different than a lot I have read. When I read, I find myself skipping a lot of descriptive stuff (I call it the fluff of a story)and my eyes hunt for the "heart" of the story (Hey, I am a busy mom, after all). So this is the way I tend to write. Hope you enjoy Falling For Gin!
