5.0 out of 5 stars What are you waiting for?
If you don't have the cd by now, get it already! It's wonderful! It's everything you were feeling and couldn't put into words. If you like some real singing, creativity, great songs and heart-felt lyrics, then you need this album in your collection. If you don't like it, then you just can't be pleased!

TANK- ONE MAN
With the death of Aaliyah Blackground Records biggest draw to consumers is TANK. His first CD "Forces of Nature" was definitely a pleasant surprise. Dude his a talent for slow jams and I was definitely lookin forward to this CD.... The first half of the CD is classic R&B. Great mid tempo and slow jam, Kenny Lattimore smooth love tunes. The second half of this CD is full of Cash Money, Cole Brown silliness. The CD starts good with the lead single "One Man". Track 4 "Supa Sexy" is a nice uptempo happy hour groove. Has some remnants of "Sexual healing" mixed into the cut. Track 5 "My place" might be the best song on the CD. He sings in this cool falsetto voice and the sax solos at the end are tighttttt! Track 7 "Cake and Ice Cream" is a cool cut also. Probably should be his next single. He's singin in like a quick rapid Twista kinda pace and essentially it's about a dude who is successfully maintaining 2 relationships at once. track 8 "Close" is another Tank specialty slow jam. Very sensual jam. track 9 "I'm the reason" goes back to his "Maybe I Deserve" formula of taking the blame for his failed relationships. Track 10 "Make me wanna sing " is a loose remake of Minnie Ripperton's "Lovin U". It features Sparkle and she actually does a good job. It showed some versatility to change that song up a bit without screwin it up royalty. NOW. If the CD stopped here, maybe added another CD filler song I'd say this was a must have CD! BUT NO!... The tracks by themselves are ok. Definitely destroyed by the Baby influence on these tracks. Where was the connection here?? the only track I feel in this mix is a Track 14, "No Why". It's about a dude tryin to get back with his woman after he goes Ike Turner on her. Overall I liked the CD. But he had to mess it up a little bit, had to show his thug side.

3.0 out of 5 stars Tank- One Man, June 14, 2007
This review is from: One Man (Audio CD)
Its really hard to pin point exactly what Tank did wrong on this album. what he did right was make the songs "One Man" and "I'm The Reason", which are two very good songs that he showcases his singing talents on. "One Man" is the tale of Tank showing his woman that he is only what man, and he does not have the answers to everything, but if she will let him, he will love her the best he can. "I'm The Reason" is the heartbreaking tale of a woman cheating and lying to Tank and he finds out. But other than those two standouts, there is not a whole lot of otheer really truly good songs. I mean the party starter "Let Me Live" you could argue as being a standout, because even though i wouldnt consider it a standout, it is still a good track. But thats about it for truly good songs. I mean he should really avoid the thug tracks, where they turn into rap tracks instead of r&b. The amazingly annoying "Makes Me Wanna Sing" is just down right horrible. I mean the high pitched howling woman in the background just drives me crazy. Then there is the "Party Like A Thug" which is just a bad song for an R&B singer like Tank to do. I could maybe see R.Kelly doing this track but definetly not Tank. But this album is not really that bad, there is just not a whole lot of standout tracks, and there is a fair amount of bad tracks, but there is still some decent tracks that are tolerable. If you really like Tank like i do, you will probably enjoy some of these tracks. But otherwise this album is just decent. He can do much better!

5.0 out of 5 stars This Is A Must Have For Both Men & Women, October 15, 2005

Men & women the Tank is full and we're ready for take off. Tank didn't it, what we were hoping He was going to do with "Forces of Nature" He did it with "One Man". This is one of the best displays of song writing & vocal talent I've ever heard. Tank is talented and not just a one hit wonder with "Maybe I Deserve". This CD has everthing you need to set the mood or just chill and have a good time. Honestly, men have a CD that they can give/play to their special someone to let them know how they feel with songs like "One Man" (which help us men explain that our love means more then anything we can buy) or "Close" (which helps guys give women a detailed look at what men thinks about the first time they have sex). One Man from top to bottom is a musical treasure and should be taken seriously.

5.0 out of 5 stars Soulful Sound Should Bring Tank from Underground, December 17, 2002
By

"One Man" is a Cd with many different faces, featuring producers Black Rob, Mannie Fresh. This Cd blends the soul of Tank with the upbeat "stunna" beats of Cash Money on some of the better tracks, "Let Me Live" and "Party Like a Thug." But don't get it twisted this album is still full of that "Forces of Nature" soul. Tank shows he is "Unpredictable" with these sensual hooks, and "lines" that could get even the weakest guy in the club a girl. Perhaps the best track being "My Place" where you hear the sensational voice of Tank at its best. All in all, "One Man" stems far from the sensational first single, and branches out into a great CD.

1.0 out of 5 stars Tank tanked, October 30, 2002
This review is from: One Man (Audio CD)
This is one of the worst albums I have heard. It seems the formula these days is to take a pretty boy with a decent voice and make him croon about 5th grade love songs. He needs to sit down and listen to boys to men stevie wonder and the temptations and find some inspiration

2.0 out of 5 stars Definitely Nothing Special, February 11, 2003

I didn't actually buy this CD and I'm glad I didn't. I copied it from a friend. The thing I don't understand is that I never was a fan of Tank's voice from the beginning, so I don't know why I thought I could bear this CD. There is something about Tank's voice that annoys me. He sounds extremely monotone to me, which is evident on the first single "One Man." He always sounds like he is afraid to let loose and have fun with his voice. He always sounds restrained. That's the reason why I wasn't fully able to enjoy this CD or anything that Tank has released in the past. Another bad thing about this CD is the wannabe "r&b thug" -ishness that CD takes on after about the 10th track. "Let Me Live" and "Party Like a Thug" sound like R. Kelly reject songs. I'm so tired of all the "bling bling" in today's hip hop and r&b? Can anyone tell me exactly when r&b left the voice and the heart and went to the mall?

5.0 out of 5 stars Tank Takes Care of Business, December 16, 2002
A Kid's Review
This review is from: One Man (Audio CD)
This CD starts off hot and finishes in a blaze. The first release off it "One Man" lets you know that Tank is just trying to do he can while being supa sexy, and unpredictable at the same time. Later on in the album Cash Money starts to show off their muscles on the tracks "Let Me Live" and "Party Like A Thug." In simple terms this R&B sensation from Mil-town (Milwaukee for ya'll that don't know) takes care of business.
