A Game of Blue's Clues Once More,
By George Buttner "Agent0042" (Dayton, Ohio United States) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: One for Me, One for You: A Book About Sharing (Blue's Clues) (Paperback)
"One for Me, One for You" is a 2006 "Blue's Clues" book, #20 in the series and all about sharing. While some of the recent "Blue's Clues" books have featured Blue and the other dogs talking, evne without Blue's Room, this book reverts to the format of playing the Blue's Clues game. Also, Blue seems to look a bit different in this book --- a bit cuter. I think her face is a bit more rounded.
In this book, Blue is having Sharing Day at her school the next day. Joe isn't sure what it is that Blue wants to share, so we help with a game of Blue's Clues to figure it out. Along the way, we help with the sharing of cookies, playtoys and more. Another nice book for "Blue's Clues" fans, or as a tool for teaching about sharing. The characters appear as they do in the TV series and unlike some Blue's Clues books that are entirely illustrated, this book incorporates photos of Donovan Patton (Joe.)

Toddler can play Blue's Clues in the book instead of watching TV,

We have 12 Blues Clue's book but this is the most tattered. I like that she can play Blue's Clues right in the book instead of watching more TV. My daughter does not like giving up any food even if she won't eat it, so this book is helpful because it shows Joe and Blue splitting a cookie in half to share it. Another sharing concept is taking turns with a ball - the text only has 2 characters playing with it, but my daughter likes to talk about giving everyone on the page a turn - the bird, shovel, pail, everyone gets a turn. The next sharing concept is a bit trickier for a 3 year old - one bird has 2 seeds, one has 1 seed and another has none, then it basically asks you how to make that more fair. After the first time she remembered the bird with 2 has to give 1 to the bird with none w/o thinking about why, but any repetition stressing sharing is good. Blues Clues books are the only ones I've seen that explain a problem and ask the child to determine the right answer.

The book fell apart very quickly, after only a few uses. Some of the ink was off-color too. I do like the story for my 2 year old daughter, but the book is only held together with tape and staples now.

Another Blue's Clues book my kids read regularly. It teaches about sharing and my kids now get what it means to "break it in half and share with someone". Cute and educational.

This book is great in reinforcing the concept of sharing. My son loves it so much that the pages are coming apart. It's an inexpensive book so I didn't mind having to repair the book. I would recommend this book for any Blue's Clues fan.

My 4-year-old son likes the Blue's Clues books that follow the format of the show, and this one does. There's a clue game, "What does Blue want to bring to school for sharing day?" In addition, Joe, Blue and the gang learn/talk about sharing in various situations. Fine book overall.
