4.0 out of 5 stars Good all in one vitamin - not coated though.
I shopped around when the multi-vitamins I was taking were discontinued and these seem to be the best out there for you.

One thing to note that these are big pills and they aren't coated to go down easier. If you have trouble swallowing for some reason you might want to be careful around these.

1.0 out of 5 stars A waste of money...
It's funny, after reading the reviews for this, a lot of posters say they feel no difference at all (and the ones who do usually feel negative affects) and only hope that the vitamin is doing its thing. What's sad, is that I took these vitamins years ago and pretty much felt the same way. I was only hoping and assuming it was doing its thing. Since I never really felt...

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth trying out, February 17, 2009
By
This review is from: One A Day Men's Multivitamin Health Formula - 250 Tablets
One-A-Day Men's Health Formula has been a worthwhile dietary supplement for me. I notice no difference in my energy level compared to before, but I do sleep more deeply at night than I did before I started taking them and I feel more rested when I wake up. I remember dreams more, so I assume that my pre-One-A-Day diet was missing something. I doubt that they would cure insomnia, but they made a noticeable difference to me.

I have had no trouble ingesting the pills, and I take one with a glass of juice (or water) and fruit. Sam's Club carries a 250 ct. bottle for about $13.00.

In contrast, I took gingko biloba for six months and noticed neither positive nor negative effects (except the terrible taste and the negative effect on my wallet), so I stopped taking the gingko.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's ok for the price., February 9, 2011

Yes, there are better and more potent vitamins out there.
And they also cost a lot more money.
Don't expect to pop a vitamin and have instant energy and improved mood, focus, sleep, etc...
Sadly, people are really looking for that all in one miracle pill.
Sorry, it doesn't exist.
I don't really feel any different after taking this.
I've been taking multi's since I was a teenager and really never felt any different.
Why do I take them then you ask?
Preventative measures are always a good thing.
Does it work?
If you see my name in the obits before I turn 70 then no, it didn't work.
I'll give this one a thumbs up till I can afford something better.

Small tablet size is better for folks like me who have trouble with large tablets. This is my third reorder now, and will continue with this brand unless something better comes along.

4.0 out of 5 stars So far so good, February 4, 2011
This review is from: One A Day Men's Multivitamin Health Formula - 250 Tablets
Not coated tablets, easy to swallow. Not as big as some people trying to scary you.
I do feel some energy difference after 2 days of taking it.
I have new born twins, and they wear me out everyday. After taking these vitamins, I do feel more energy during the day. Not sure about sleeping better or not, I am tired everyday, so I always sleep well.
Bought them from Sam's for about $12.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality multi-vitamin at an affordable price, August 28, 2009

This is a great multivitamin. The tablets aren't a big as some people here would lead you to believe. They are easy to swallow. There's no nasty aftertaste.

I wish I could feel any effect from taking it, but like with any multivitamin, you just have to hope there actually is vitamins and minerals inside.

Recommended.

1.0 out of 5 stars A waste of money..., February 10, 2010
This review is from: One A Day Men's Multivitamin Health Formula - 250 Tablets
It's funny, after reading the reviews for this, a lot of posters say they feel no difference at all (and the ones who do usually feel negative affects) and only hope that the vitamin is doing its thing. What's sad, is that I took these vitamins years ago and pretty much felt the same way. I was only hoping and assuming it was doing its thing. Since I never really felt a difference and I felt like I had more than I knew what to do with, they mainly ended up in the toilet.

One-A-Day is a prime example of a cheap, mass-marketed multivitamin that truly has very little to offer. If you're someone who is serious about your health, then you're better off spending a little more on a quality multivitamin that will actually do something for you, not something that is just a waste of money.

Cheap vitamins like this usually do not list their vitamin details explicitly on their nutrition label. Instead, one must look at the ingredients to find precisely what forms the vitamins are in. Cheap vitamins (such as this one) usually will use inferior forms of vitamins and minerals because they are inexpensive, the general public doesn't know any better anyway, and unfortunately, these ingredients give minimal results.. if that.

Cheap vitamins use ingredients such as calcium as calcium carbonate, or minerals like magnesium as magnesium oxide.

When looking for a multivitamin, I have three main things I look for:

1. The form of the multivitamin should ideally be in either a liquid or a capsule/softgel. Tablets, while not all of them are bad, tend to be harder for the body to dissolve because they are so compressed and dense. As a result, the tablet may not completely dissolve, thus the vitamins are wasted.

2. The forms the vitamins are in and the amounts:

-Vitamin A as 100% natural cartonoids such as betacarotene and no more than 5000IU.

-Calcium as either caclium citrate or calcium malate or amino acid chelate but NOT calcium carbonate.

-Minerals such as zinc, magnesium, copper and so forth should be in either citrate or amino acid chelated forms, not oxides

-Selenium should be in 200mcg (the amount that the latest research says is needed to get the most health benefits) in the L-Selenomethionine form

-Natural Vitamin E as d-alpha tocopherol, not the synthetic dl-alpha tocopherol which is what most mass-marketed vitamins such as One-A-Day and Centrum use.

3. The other ingredients: avoid vitamins that have artificial colors, useless fillers and binders and objectionable ingredients such as titanium dioxide.

Sad thing is, most mass-marketed vitamins such as this one make it a little harder for the consumer to know what they are getting, because their label usually doesn't list the form of the vitamin or mineral. Instead, one has to look at the ingredients and know what they are looking for in order to determine what the form is.

This vitamin fails in just about every area I can think of for a quality vitamin. It's no wonder that people don't feel any better after taking them. This vitamin is very cheap for a reason. If you are someone who is taking vitamins in hopes that you will improve your health, then spend a little more on a product that is actually beneficial and will help you feel better.

4.0 out of 5 stars Improve sleep and energy?, January 28, 2011

This review is from: One A Day Men's Multivitamin Health Formula - 250 Tablets
It's true when I couldn't sleep well due to lacking exercise and junk food I eat until I start One-A-Day men formula yesterday and I just had good sleep. It is weird but I feel sightly improve with energy and positive effect. One day doesn't make big difference so I'm testing to see if it works for me at least one or two weeks.

This pill is SO big and uncoated and makes it very hard to swallow. I get worried before I swallow it because it has gotten stuck on the way down.
