This review is from: The One Mile Shot--DVD (DVD)
Top High Power champion David Tubb sets up one of his 1000 yard competition rifles and engages a target a full mile away. This video goes over the issues that entails, his set up and the results.
You hear about current snipers getting hits in the field at this range. Note they are using heavy rifles with mounts (or is that light artillery pieces?) chambered in .50 BMG or similar for the task with a spotter. Rarely discussed is how many shots were first fired before finally scoring a hit. Tubb does his demo with a 6.5mm rifle fired from sling-supported prone on a NRA LR target normally used for 1000 yard competition. Given the LONG flight time, he is able to fire and spot for himself. Though not practical for most people this is an interesting program. |
