Her formal training includes Registerd Massage Therapist (retired), Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, studies in First Nations, Inka (Peru) medicine wheel teachings as well as the Foundation for Shamanic Studies. Training in coaching, facilitation, meditation, yoga, energy work, singing, sound and light healing have complemented her work activites and love of life long learning.
Originally from Vancouver, B.C. Canada, Alannah has led an adventuresome journey in life. Simple But Powerful Meditation Techniques,

I had meditated for many years until one of my spiritual mentors said it is not necessary to meditate. I guess that is OK for some but I found myself within one year being unfocused and sometimes a little anxious. About the time I said it's time start to meditate again along came this small but mighty 80 plus page book with a companion CD.
The author creates a delightful storytelling approach - bridging the gap between our minds and hearts. Her approach to meditation is a complete and refreshing change from other books - her concepts involve hypnotherapy, shamanism, energy alignments, computers and modern science. She focuses on meditation not only to relax but also to become more creative, focused and alive to the world around us. The book is a fun read, simple and thought provoking. The author shows you how to develop self-friendship within and creates an easy path to follow - based on her own life and work with clients. Also, she claims that it is a one minute technique for anywhere anytime and I can tell you it works. By the end of the day you've already tuned in and tuned up for 30 minutes in those 1 minute segments. The CD, which comes with the book, contains 3 tracks totaling 30 minutes. The author suggests using the CD to build the foundation for meditation and also as a tune-up for whenever you need it. The sound quality is excellent, her voice soothing and calming and the sounds from the `Tibetan bowl' really clean out the cobwebs. There is also a guided visualization of connecting with the light - definitely worth listening to. The questions throughout the book focus on the practical (how do you connect with yourself) aspects of meditation. If you desire to create a more conscious relationship within yourself these simple techniques provide even more than meditation, I highly recommend it.
