5.0 out of 5 stars comforting
My father just died two months ago and this book caught my eye in the bookstore. I could not put it down, and read it in one night. It was so comforting, and let me know that as Christians, we really can face death with hope. It also let me know that death is a passage way to eternity with the Father...and comforted me tremendously.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as I had hoped
I am a fan of Lutzer's books for I find them to hit the nail going straight to the point, short yet full of teaching and of ease to read. Yet, I was a bit disappointed with this one.

`One minute after you die' presents the classic view of the after-life from the Christian perspective: its's heaven or hell...no midway, no reincarnation, no sleep, no chance for...

4.0 out of 5 stars What an exciting book ....., January 11, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: One Minute After You Die: A Preview of Your Final Destination (Paperback)
I have really enjoyed this book and found it to be scripturally sound. A must-read for Christians who desire to see a preview of what is to come. It helps remove fear of death and challenges the Christian to live a more worthy life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Answers Many Questions, March 26, 2003

This book answers many questions about what happens when you die, with emphasis from a Christian perspective. It was illuminating and had good scripture references. It was especially interesting to be listening to RC Sproul's (Reformed) tape-of-the-month tapes on this subject at the same time. It was like they were both reading from the same script. Come to think of it, they were!

The reading is simple and broken down into easily manageable chapters, which makes good reading for those times when you only have ten minutes or so at a time. The level is good for both new Christians and more mature ones and even for non-Christians (an invitation is given). Definitely worth reading and something you might want to leave laying out so visitors can see it (they might want to borrow it).

5.0 out of 5 stars It Will Open Your Eyes, July 16, 2004
This review is from: One Minute After You Die: A Preview of Your Final Destination (Paperback)
This book really opened my eyes. It is not a feel good book. It drove home the fact that I will have to account for my life someday. The discussions on hell and hades were for me very scary. It was what I needed to hear. It has made me much more concious of how I live my life. I believe this book will help many take their christian life much more seriously. I would highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book has ended my anxiety about death., June 14, 1999

This book answered many of my questions about when and where you go after death. It helped me become a better Christian. After reading this book I wanted all my friends and family to read it and get as excited about Christianity as I have. I can't understand anyone rejecting Christ's offer of eternal salvation after reading it.

5.0 out of 5 stars REPENT NOW - Read the Bible!!! - Commit your life to JESUS!, June 28, 1999

This review is from: One Minute After You Die: A Preview of Your Final Destination (Paperback)
I have read this book many times over. It is Powerful and very Real since this entire book is Biblically based. I have given copys to friends and family in hopes & prayers that they will read it, repent of thier sins and make thier relationship to the Almighty thier Highest priority, before its to late. "Once we have passed through the door of death we can't pick up our suitcase and move out because we don't like the accommodations." ------------------- "He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him" (John 3:36)------------------------ Please read this book - it is well worth the cost.

Whether or not I agree with the theology is of no importance. As I research material for my own religious writings, I fould this book most helpful with all the scriptural references and fundamentalist interpretations. It saved me a lot of legwork as Lutzer presented a very stable and well supported worldview against which I can compare or contrast mine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Words of comfort and insights well written, March 20, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: One Minute After You Die: A Preview of Your Final Destination (Paperback)
I was particularly moved by the authors insights into the death of children. I feel that although the subject of hell was addressed aggressively, the book was full of hope for all. I have read this book several times, mainly all the bent-edge pages. It is always by the nightstand.

5.0 out of 5 stars Based on Scripture and Insightful, July 29, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: One Minute After You Die: A Preview of Your Final Destination (Paperback)
I found this book to be based on Scripture, not on Dr. Lutzer's opinions. Comfort, why death happens, etc. were addressed. I recommend this book to anyone who is looking for honest answers. I have just experienced the death of an immediate family member and needed help through the grief. This book helped.

4.0 out of 5 stars If you ever wondered, December 18, 2001

If you ever wondered what happens, One minute after you die, you must read this book. Based on biblical principles author Lutzer does a fine job of showing us why some popular beliefs are inaccurate and what exaclty will happen to us and our loved ones.

I bought a copy for each of my siblings and my children and my aunt when my momma passed on.

There are some areas that are a little difficult because they seem to contradict what is said elsewhere in the book, but if you research in the Bible, you can see the truth.
A great book.
