Book Description

3rd ed September 1, 1998
The experts have known it for years: small change is big business. Now Scott Travers, one of the most knowledgeable and influential coin dealers in the world, shows how you, too, can turn a profit from cents, nickels, and dimes. Case in point: In 1995 the U.S. Mint accidentally produced a number of Lincoln head cents from "doubled dies" (a doubling of some of the letters is visible). These errors are worth from $30 to $100, depending on their condition!

With One-Minute Coin Expert, you will learn how to
¸  find the hidden fortune in your pocket change
¸  start your own lucrative coin collection
¸  handle and store those important coins
¸  ensure that you're buying and selling your coins at market value
¸  chart the coin market and discover the best times to buy and sell
¸  grade coins like the professionals
¸  and much more!

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

The second edition of ONE-MINUTE COIN EXPERT was a smash -- who wouldn't want to try to find a fortune in his/her pocket change? The new third edition is even better -- a new section on numismatic sites on the Internet, coin grading info courtesy of the Professional Coin Grading Service -- and serious coin collectors owe it to themselves to get hold of a copy of House of Collectibles' OFFICIAL GUIDE TO COIN GRADING AND COUNTERFEIT DETECTION by PCGS -- plus updates on coin auctions and numismatic events in the two years since the second edition was published.

Scott A. Travers, Vice President (1997-1999) of the American Numismatic Association and acknowledged consumer watchdog for coin collectors, has done a super job on this revision. He's President of Scott Travers Rare Coin Galleries, Inc., here in New York City, and the author of four other books on coin collecting. Where does he find the time? I don't know, but coin collectors are sure lucky he does!

--Randy Ladenheim-Gil, Editor, House of Collectibles

This book had many tips for the new collector. There are e-mail addresses and address of people that can help with coins that you are not sure are errors. It tells you what coins to buy and which are not a good bet. All in all, I've you're a new collector, buy it!
