I haven't studied closely with Sri Siva (now known as Siva Baba) yet, but I have read this book and applied some of the techniques taught in it, and in addition have participated in the Chicago Siva Baba study group, have attended a number of Siva Baba's public events, and have attended two private events with Siva Baba. I haven't been to India yet--which is a pilgrimage most of Siva Baba's closer students make--yet I can say that the techniques taught in this book, and elsewhere in Siva Baba's teachings, do work but they need to be treated with some respect. I have gotten results--in some cases, amazing results--applying the techniques in this book. Often I do the meditations while in the shower--even a brief meditation will be amazingly effective.

What Siva Baba is essentially recommending is that spiritual people be a bit more focused on the material aspects of life--that they be specific about their material goals and practise mantras to manifest those material goals. Prior to meeting Siva Baba, I studied with another teacher who had a similar message about spiritual people increasing their focus on material matters. It is a message to which spiritual folks are sometimes somewhat resistant. They sometimes take the view that God will provide everything that one needs, so there is no need for the spiritual aspirant to focus on material things.

Siva Baba, I think, would take a somewhat different view of things. Yes, ultimately God will provide us with what we need and we need to have trust in God. Yet it helps to take a somewhat more proactive view of things. We are spiritual beings and yet we have physical bodies. As long as we are in our physical bodies, we need to look honestly at what we need physically in our lives in order to achieve our maximum potential. It is all well and good to believe in helping others, but if our own lives are a mess, how much help can we really be to others? Will driving a better car, for example, help to create a better image that will allow us to be more successful in our lives? Will having a higher income allow us to pay off debts, reduce the stress in our lives, and make us simply more pleasant people to be around?

These are questions that Siva Baba encourages us to tackle in an honest and extremely practical manner. It is really basically just about setting goals--nothing more to it than that. Once we've decided what we need physically in life, Siva Baba then provides the mantras for doing the manifestation. At that point, we let God take over and help us in whatever way God chooses to do. In a sense, Siva Baba is encouraging us to become active partners with God in charting the course for our lives. We are certainly, to put it mildly, the junior partner in this relationship--but by taking an active role in the process, we will find it easier to access God's grace--it is the old adage, basically, of God helping those who help themselves.

My experience is that these techniques work--as long as we approach these teachings with respect. If we are disrespectful, cynical, or ridiculing of the approach of Siva Baba (or any spiritual teacher), we will generally not see any results. I strongly encourage people to give these techniques a really honest try.

This is my first review. I recently purchased this book in early April, and yesterday I manifested a job that DOUBLES my present income! The best part was, it was easy, just one phone call, and my life is about to change for the better. I have read all of the testimonials here, and in Sri Siva's book, but I didn't really think I would join those who have doubled their incomes. That's not all that happened to me this week. I had misplaced my DD214 (military separation form), and could not get an approx. $300 military discount for nursing school without it. I searched the house, for at least a month, without avail. Plus, I was having difficulty getting correct information from the V.A. in how to get my form certified. Thursday morning at 3 a.m., I woke up from a sound sleep with a solution to another problem which had been troubling me. In finding those papers I came upon my DD214, and found a phone # to the local Chancery Clerk's office. Something told me to call the Clerk's office, and I called later that day. The result of that call is I now have several certified copies of my form, all done for free; and my dream of pursuing R.N. school, with a discount to boot, has quickly become a reality! This book is small, but power-packed. Everything you need to change your life for the better is contained in here. Sri Siva is a guru who delivers! My search for a truly enlightened teacher has ended. The title of the book doesn't lie...prosperity AND enlightenment...it's all up to you. Ever wish you could FINALLY find that EASY, NO SWEAT solution to getting rid of those daily struggles and suffering we go through? Make a BET with YOUR doubting , negative self that most of us only know too welll (I know I certainly had this within myself), then do the practices for ONE MONTH - EVERY DAY - COMMIT TO IT and then YOU be the judge.

I loved this book of practical magic! I feel like I am a terrible meditator. I've been trying to develop a strong meditation practice for years now with good intentions, but my mind wanders and I'm so restless. This book gave me techniques to incorporate to reach out to the divine in other ways. I love doing the rituals, using the sacred ash, lighting candles and pouring milk on the Siva Lingam. Incorporating these sacred rituals in my daily routine has allowed me to take steps to change my life for the better. Perhaps the combination of the intent and the action have as much power as pursuing stillness in meditation? I have paid off debts, started a business, and feel much happier and fulfilled in life! Overall I feel like I procrastinate less and thus am having a more productive life.

If you have time, I would also read Loving Ganesa by Satguru Subramuniyaswami. That book was a nice complement to the Prosperity and Enlightenment book. Sri Siva tells you what you need to know and do - the Loving Ganesha book goes into more detail on the sacred symbols and the energies you're reaching out to.

This book gave me tools to use to keep me focused on my goals. At last things are happening!

This book explains how to use spiritual wisdom in order to achieve both financial and spiritual success. The material is straight-forward and easy to understand even though it draws from ancient traditions and practices normally only available to a select few through a Master (that's something else I enjoyed - being privy to "secret teachings"). I strive to stay positive in my perspectives, so a book like this that details meditations and techniques to enhance and improve one's life is appealing and helpful. I've been carrying it around with me and reading it whenever I have to stand in line, or wait for something - for whatever reason, because it gives me a "boost" and keeps me from becoming impatient. This is the kind of book you want to give to everyone you know. It's engaging. It's uplifting. It's thought provoking. It's inspiring. And, it's unique!
