5.0 out of 5 stars "ONE MORE DAY" is "UNBELIEVEABLE" "STUFF!", February 27, 2001

This review is from: One More Day (Audio CD)
In July, 1998, country supergroup Diamond Rio released their sixth album, UNBELIEVEABLE. Two years later, the fabulous Rio boys are back with their latest album, ONE MORE DAY, a CD that truly shows the diversity of the band and is in my opinion the best album released so far in their career.

As a longtime Diamond Rio fan, I knew the new album would be great, but never in a million years did I expect it to be as great as it is. With ONE MORE DAY, Diamond Rio takes their music to a new, higher level, incoperating what they do best--country music--with other popular musical genres. From traditional country to bluegrass to pop, the band shows a different side of their music with each of the album's thirteen tracks. Each song is unique and makes its own contribution to the album. The band's diversity even includes songs such as "Stuff" and "That's Just That", which are fun and upbeat and are there for the sole purpose of making you smile, while songs like "I'm Trying" and the title track are able to provoke strong emotions and even tears from the listener.

Over the last decade, Diamond Rio has given us seven great albums that spawned such classics as "Meet In The Middle," "How Your Love Makes Me Feel," and "Love A Little Stronger," songs that have defined the band's music and become hits with fans. It is my prediction that ONE MORE DAY will be no different. The title track has already scored major chart success, and there is no doubt that "Till The Heartache's Gone" and "Hearts Against The Wind" will follow in its footsteps. The greatest thing about ONE MORE DAY is you need not be a country music fan to enjoy it. There is something for virtually everyone on this album and I guarantee that you will not be disappointed!

5.0 out of 5 stars Brings in the best of the old and new!!, February 6, 2001

On One More Day, Diamond Rio does a perfect job of creating new tunes in their trademark style millions have come to love over the last 10 years. But rather than being content where they are, the guys really stretch out over several sub-genres of country, from the fast paced "Thats Just That", to the touching "One More Day" (already a big hit) and "Til the Heartache's Gone", to a great duet with Chely Wright, "I'm Trying". They sound great on every track. Their trademark harmonies and great instromental precision all packed into a high-energy package is utilized more than ever on these 13 songs. If you like country music, or just plain good music, this album is highly recommended. My personal favorites are "Heart's Against the Wind", "I think I Love You", "I'm Already Gone", "I Could do it with my eyes closed", and "Here I go Fallin'", but they are all awesome. This is one of those rare cd's you can just pop in your player and listen the whole way through. No skipping songs on this one. Now what are you waiting for? Get a copy. You won't regret it!

5.0 out of 5 stars SPECTACULAR!, March 17, 2001
This review is from: One More Day (Audio CD)
This is one of country music's best talents. Diamond Rio has been on the scene for several years, but they are still the best. "One More Day" is their latest album, and on it they change slightly (for the better). The album kicks off with "That's Just That", a fast paced tune with great talent on the guitar. Then there's the title track, followed by the ready-for-summer-radio "Sweet Summer." The pop-ballad "You Make Me Feel" is a winner by combining Marty's soft voice and excellent harmonies. "I Could Do It With My Eyes Closed" is a nice, catch-your-breath tune. "I'm Trying" combines Diamond Rio and Chely Wright (a great combination). "Heart's Against the Wind" is a beautiful bluegrass number (made tolerable by Diamond Rio's talent). There are even more songs on this CD, all of them great. It's been quite awhile, but Diamond Rio is back in the ring, throwing the first punch. And it's a knockout.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great!, July 24, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: One More Day (Audio CD)
I have always loved the beautiful harmony of Diamond Rio and have been a big fan from the first time I heard this group. Many of their songs have actually brought tears to my eyes but none more so than, "One More Day." Wow! That song is powerful. They are truly fantastic and chock full of talent. I don't think they get near the recognition they deserve. A great album and worth every penny!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great!, February 8, 2001
This review is from: One More Day (Audio CD)
The new Diamond Rio albumis just great. There is one song I just keep going back to. I'm trying the amazing duet with one of country music's best and most under reated vocalist Chely Wright.

Marty & Chely tellt he most haunting tale of a husband and wife and confronting his drinking problem. This should be a single-sounds like Song of the Year stuff to me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Real Emotion, February 6, 2003
This review is from: One More Day (Audio CD)
Diamond Rio proves with ONE MORE DAY why they are one of the best country groups that have ever graced country music. The harmonies are superb, the instrumentation is beautiful, and they have good ears for good songs. The album was initially slated to be released in 2000, but was delayed time and time again. The album's first single "Stuff", failed to catch on to listeners or radio. They repackaged the album and released it in early 2001, with the first single, the title track. This song became a huge hit, as it is a song that resonates with many listeners, such as myself. Everyone who has had a loved one who has passed on, knows what this song implies. For me it was one of my best friends who passed away, and all I would ever want is just one more day with him. It's a beautiful song. Another winner is "I'm Trying", a duet with Chely Wright, should have been a single. "I'm Already Gone" is a beautiful song as well. "Sweet Summer" is the perfect summer single. Other favorites of mine include "The Love of A Woman", "You Make Me Feel", "Til The Heartache's Gone" and "Hearts Against The Wind". Overall a stunning collection no fan should be without.

4.0 out of 5 stars A must have for any Diamond Rio fan!, February 7, 2001
By

This review is from: One More Day (Audio CD)
I just finished listening to the album for the first time, and still have a smile on my face. The album is a wonderful example of the groups moving, heart-tugging ballads. Marty's voice was designed to sing of love thwarted and fulfilled. I own all of their cd's, and am just as happy with this one as with the others. Diamond Rio has yet to disapoint me. The only thing keeping this album from being a five-star item is that there are only a couple of their fast-paced, quirky songs here. I would of appreciated a couple more of these light-hearted pieces. But I would also like to say that the duet with Chely Wright is absolutley breath-taking. A definate must have!

One More Day was well worth the wait! A fabulous collection of songs from a group known for its ability to select songs, this album shows this super group at its very best. Great harmonies, great musicianship from some of the best musicians in Nashville. If you've never bought a Diamond Rio album this is a great one to start with, although after you listen to this one, you will be back in here ready to buy many more!
