3.0 out of 5 stars One More Time
While the explosive title track is one of the catchiest Euro-pop hits in years, Real McCoy's second LP, One More Time, doesn't quite pack as strong of a punch on the rest of the tracks. "I Wanna Come (With You)" and "Give A Little Love" are both energetic but marred by clichéd lyricism, as are much of the other songs. Their double-platinum debut, Another Night,...

5.0 out of 5 stars Not Quite Euro-Dance, But It's Still Amazing, October 19, 2000

One More Time is one of those albums that could keep you dancing all night. The line up of the group is a little different from their previous album "Another Night" but in this case I think it may have been better. Real MCcoy introduces new member Lisa Cork with this album and she proves that even though no one could take the place that Patsy had she can sing just as well. Also with this album comes a new sound while still remaining to their dance roots. It also brings a more mature sound to the table with strong lyrics and music. Although the album isn't as dance oriented as it should've been (mainly because of the americanization of the Euro-Dance sound by American record companies)it is still a very good album.

The album starts out with the title track wich is what one might expect from Real MCcoy, heavy beats, awesome bass, and a synth driven sound that rules night clubs all over the world. It is an excellent track all together and one of the best songs on the album. I Wanna Come is another synth driven dance beat, but the sound is a bit darker than One More Time. The lyrics, while sexual in nature are very good and the delivery from the group are what make the song. Give A Little Love is more of a pop song and a damn good one at that. Lyrically and musically sound, the song is very good but it could've had more of a dance sound to it. If You're Not In It For Love is the only cover on this album which is another dance song, but not quite Euro-Dance. Musically the song could've been a little better, but the deliverence of the lyrics more than makes up for it. It's a very good track. Love Almost Faded intoduces a new sound that I can only describe as a sort of Jeep-Funk. The music, vocals, and lyrics are great and as an added twist O-Jay does a little ragga rap that makes this song an excellent chioce for radio airplay but unfortunately was never released as a single. Look At Me is an absolutely amazing power ballad euro style. The lyrics are great. The music is a bit complicated but still very good and the deliverence from the group makes this song an excellent track. It's a real tearjerker. Love Save Me is an out right amazing dance track. Lyrically and musically sound, it brings a whole new sound tho the group in it's own way, which makes this track absolutely irresistable. Take A Look At Your Life is another dance song that actually kind of resembles "Automatic Lover". Lyrically the song is about the pros and cons of being rich. The Sky Is The Limit is a song that's not quite dance but not quite pop either. It's both lyrically and musically sound and can put anyone in a good mood and make them wanna get up and dance. Love Is A Stranger is another song that resembles on of their previous songs (Love & Devotion) but still manages to have a new feel. It's a slower dance song with a dark sound which makes this track great. Tomorrow is a slow song-almost like a ballad but not quite. The song uses metaphors in the lyrics and the music is very good. Tonight is a dance pop song and a good choice for the last track on the album. This song is definately one of the best on the album. All in all this album is very well put together although it might disappoint Euro-Dance fans a little. Go out and buy it. You won't regret it.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Few Great songs, April 6, 2000
This review is from: One More Time (Audio CD)
Okay so in general this CD is not as good as Another Night. But really few CDs are. "One More Time" is perhaps my favorite techno song ever: its great for excercising, dancing, driving! I must have listened to that song about 1000 times. No joke! It just makes you wanna get up and live life! Besides that the rest of the songs are decent, not great but decent. #2 and #8 are my favorites beside One More Time. A respectable Cd: not a great one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Germans Light Up the Sky.....AGAIN!, February 16, 2004

I remember when I first heard the Irresistible "One More Time" on the radio sometime in 1997 or 1998. I knew that one of my favorite bands at that time was back again, Lightning stroke twice! And "One More Time" sounded Energetic, Catchy with great Beat, and very similar to "Another Night" or "Runaway". Simply a Great Dance/Pop track.

This album starts with the Awesome "One More Time" and it delivers an Unstoppable string of HITS, yeah they are all nothing less than Great Dance, and 2 songs some are slower, but they are Great and Beautiful Love songs.

Unlike the first album, that had 3 Covers, this album has only One, and it's an Awesome Fast Classic EuroDance cover of Shania Twain's hit "If You're Not in It for Love", written by the Great Mutt Lange. It's a Great Classic EuroDance take on this Already Great song. It Picks you up and does not let you down.

All other songs on this album are Original songs, All written by the talented team of Jeglitza/Argovits/J Wind, they're talented songcrafters.

Actually "Love Save Me" was written by Billy Steinberg and Rick Nowels, who wrote one song for their 1-st album too. It's a Great Synth/Dance song!

Actually all songs have Electronic/Synth elements, and are All Great, many are done in a Reggae/Dance style with synths! Great Synths, Beats, and Great Melodies, Female Vocals and Male Rap (sometimes Reggae Rap too). Great Stuff!!

I would like to single out "Love is a Stranger" because it's one of my Extra Extra favorite synth/dance songs on this CD. They are All my favorite though, so hard to pick out.
BTW "Take a Look at Your Life" is a Great Dance song about money (of all things!).

There are also 2 of the Most Beautiful Love Ballads on this Album. These are "Look At Me" and "Tomorrow". Both of these are just Heavenly and their Beauty is Beyond words, one needs to hear them. They are very heart-warming.

I've had this album for a long time, and I still enjoy Listening to it. It's FANTASTIC DANCE/POP/TECHNO. A Must for any Pop/Dance collection. I just wish Arista promoted them more in US. They got little promotion.

Thank You for reading this review.

If you liked their debut album, their 2nd blows it away. Some may think the sound is repetitive throught the album but no. It's definately pumping and great to workout to or anything that you need to move to. The up-beat keeps you motivated. It's a fun album and can't help but smile. Spin it at parties or by yourself. Great driving music for long trips, or around the corner.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well, not their best..., March 30, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: One More Time (Audio CD)
OK, so One More Time isn't the best cd in the world, but who cares? That doesn't stop it from being a pleasant dance/pop album from a group who achieved a multi-platinum debut album. Real McCoy do fail to live up to the huge worldwide success of their 1995 first Another Night, but on this album, they still manage to push out a few great pop songs. "One More Time" is excellent. A pop hit in it's own right, the song is pure high-energy and it's got great lyrics, a great melody, and it's totally danceable. "I Wanna Come (With You)" is a cool dance track with a killer chorus, and "Give A Little Love" is a perfect Euro-pop-Ace of Base-type song that gets you singing the chorus all day long! But, sadly, the rest of the album just goes downhill, and O-Jay's raps are getting a little stupid. But Vanessa and new member Lisa Cork sound great on this album that has so little to offer the music world.

It is the best thing a person addicted to dance music could ask for. When I got this CD it felt like Christmas. It was put together so well that it pleases the best of Real MCCoy fans and danceaholics alike. One of the best ever!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another quality album here, August 3, 1998
By A Customer

One of the few instances where the second album is better than the first. Once again, every song is pretty good, and the same rap-over-singing formula continues to work. "Love Almost Faded" and "One More Time" are the best songs on the album in my opinion.
