TALK ABOUT A COLLECTOR'S ITEM..., October 3, 2008
This review is from: One More Try: An Anthology (Audio CD)
I still remember first seeing the ad for this set in early 1997, and KNOWING I'd be buying the day it was released, and I did, and not a day passes I don't thank God I have a copy before it went out of print. Truly a collector's item in every sense of the term. Example ? Well, how 'bout JOHNNY WINTER on axe, BERRY OAKLEY on bass, BUDDY MILES on drums, and Gregory Lenoir on organ and vocals doin' " Wasted Words," plus 33 more tracks !!! If you love Gregg...just buy it !!!

The BEST Gregg Allman release., November 27, 2010
This review is from: One More Try: An Anthology (Audio CD)
Yes, there were legal problems with this release, and this isn't an actual Gregg Allman album, but
it is still the best Gregg Allman collection available. This is not for anyone though who only wants
refined studio music. This is a collection of solo Gregg demos, Gregg with a band demos, alternate
takes, live cuts, and also a few studio cuts. This collection is RAW to the bone. This is undiluted
Gregg Allman. At points it can be a little ugly, but one must remember that creating a refined studio
cut for an album has to begin somewhere. If you ever wondered who Gregg really is, or wanted some
layers stripped away, this is the collection to buy. This is essentially all about Gregg Allman. It
can be a bit overwhelming in places but this is only because one is listening to RAW footage that
was probably seen as too hardcore for some who only want refined studio music. Real fans of the ABB
and Gregg Allman will immediately recognize there idol in his purist form as he bears his soul.

Demos, Alternate takes and hits, February 16, 2006
This review is from: One More Try: An Anthology (Audio CD)
These 2 CDs represent the best of Gregg Allman in the 1970's. If you like the "Laid Back" album, much of this is in that style. It's great that all the rarities are on these discs and it is well worth your time. There are stripped down versions of Both solo and Allman Brothers songs here so this is very worthwhile and highly recomended.
