Duncan McBride is a man who can handle almost anything that's thrown his way on his Montana ranch. From protecting his livestock to managing his staff, he remains level-headed at all times. With the discovery of recent cave drawings in a cave on his property, he sets out to have the drawings authenticated with minimal intrusion on his ranch. He asks family friend, Ruth Grayson, for recommendations and she recommends archeologist, Raven LaBlanc. When Duncan finally meets Raven in the flesh, he realizes he may be in for more than he bargained for. Will he be able to remain level-headed while she's on his ranch and will able to resist her?
Raven LaBlanc hopes her research on a ranch in Montana will assist her with becoming a tenured professor. Her friend and colleague, Ruth Grayson, has recommended her to the ranch's owner. She expects her days and nights to be filled with research and cave drawing authentication; however, her expectations change once she meets the ranch's owner, Duncan McBride, in the flesh. Will she be able to resist, too? In ONE NIGHT WITH YOU by Francis Ray, the matchmaking continues. This is the third installment of the Grayson Friends series and love is destined to be found. She tells Duncan and Raven's love story with passion and reality. She offers entertainment with the addition of several witty and lively characters. I thank Ms. Ray for the entertaining read, she's done it again, and I look forward to the next installment!!! Reviewed by Jaime L. Lincoln for the RAWSISTAZ(tm) Reviewers

Mrs. Ray crafts another WONDERFUL addition to the Grayson Friends series...I enjoy the main and secondary cast of characters...Rooster and his antics keep me LOL, throughout...and the SPARKS are definitely flying between Duncan and Raven...Raven is a kind, caring, loving, independent and courageous woman...at times I MUST admit I find DUNCAN and his STUBBORNNESS to be quite ANNOYING...but in the end I'm glad they find their way to a HEA...and as usual it's always nice to catch up with the rest of the Grayson clan and their ever-growing circle of family and friends.

I have been reading Francis Ray's books FOREVER!!!! I left Barbara Cartland and I moved over to Francis Ray. If you want to get away from the ghetto drama stories, then grab this one. One Night with You is a clean romance - the heroine Raven is beautiful, Duncan is handsome, Alpha male and of course rich. Raven got to Duncan thru his stomach - this smart beauty also happens to cook and be a VIRGIN! Oh this story is soooo predictable - beautiful man and woman, beautiful friends and throw in a villian or two and you have a romance - I really consider this to be the adult Disney movie! :)If you want a good, clean romance without excessive profanity, baby mama drama and all that other 'urban romance'stuff - then this story is for you. The cave art facts are a nice touch along with the description of the land.
I still DON'T believe there SINGLE cowboys out in Texas like Duncan... Ms. Ray's stories always makes me want to put on a pair of chaps and saddle up!

One Night With You- A Joyfully Recommended Title,
This review is from: One Night With You (Grayson Friends Novels) (Mass Market Paperback)
Level-headed at all times, rancher Duncan McBride was thrown for a loop when the archeologist who was supposed to authenticate the drawings he discovered in a cave on his ranch, turned out to be a beautiful goddess that immediately set his soul on fire. After escaping his disastrous first marriage, Duncan was determined to maintain a strict professional relationship with the alluring Raven LeBlac.
Archeologist Raven LeBlac couldn't believe her luck! Her very good friend and colleague recommended her to authenticate some cave drawings. If things panned out this research would be a major break in making her dream of becoming a tenured college professor true. What Raven didn't count on was being instantly attracted to the ranch owner, Duncan McBride. Will Raven be able to solely focus on her research at hand or will Duncan prove to be too much of a distraction for Raven to resist? Francis Ray is back again with yet another fantastic addition to her infectious and ridiculously catchy Grayson series. Every snice Duncan was first introduced in the series, I have eagerly awaited his story and I am delighted to say that One Night With You did not disappoint! Duncan was a strong-willed, reserved-type of alpha that needed the right woman to compliment his style, and Raven was just that woman. She was smart, highly independent and knew just how to handle Duncan with a firm, yet kindhearted glove. The couple's courtship was not an easy one traveled and their journey entailed countless disarray that threatened to destroy them in the process. Overall, I found One Night With You to be a well-written, heartfelt story filled with non-stop excitement and thrilling suspense. This is one story that you don't want to miss. I proudly bestow One Night With You as a Joyfully Recommend! Nikita Reviewed for Joyfully Reviewed

One Night IS Not Enough!,
By Luv2Read "imareader2" (Baton Rouge, LA United States) - See all my reviews

"One Night With You" is a beautiful story of a strong willed woman, Raven La Blanc and an even stronger willed man who is also stubborn to boot. When Raven first set foot on Duncan McBride's property, it seemed as if Duncan had taken an instant dislike of Raven. However, Duncan was not viewing Raven for who she could be or who she was, but he was seeing her as a woman -- a "citified" city born woman, just like his ex-wife. Oh, how little some men know. All woman are not alike and cannot be lumped into one of two categories -- either a woman like your mother or a woman who have set the wrong vibes for a man. Oh, what a pity when some men have this mindset.
However, thank goodness there are women out there like Raven and others of us that do not let what a man thinks bother us. We take the "bull by the horn" per say and do what needs to be done. From the onset Raven realized that Duncan was a stubborn, pig-headed man on his way to becoming a lonely old man if he did not shape up. Deep down Raven also felt that Duncan was a man who needed to be loved, but after learning his story, she realized that first he had to gain a woman's trust. It took a woman like Raven to make Duncan realize that all women did not come from the same mold as his ex-wife. Even when given his loving and kind sister, Faith Grayson, who had married into the Grayson clan, as an example, it was hard to convince Duncan. He thought Faith was different because first she was his sister and second, she had a loving and kind husband, Brandon Grayson, who would do anything for her or to protect her. Raven also viewed Faith and Brandon's marriage as the type of marriage she someday envisioned with a man who would love her and protect her no matter what. Raven did not count on that man being Duncan McBride, but love has a way of entering the heart when you least expect it. It makes it even harder when the man's heart is blocked by ice and has to defrost as in Duncan's case. As the days and nights unwinded and Duncan continued to see that Raven was not just a spoiled city girl, but that she could cook, clean, and dig in the dirt without worrying about her fingernails breaking or the polish chipping, Duncan's eyes began to open and the ice began to melt around his heart. However, when Raven's life appeared to be threatened Duncan felt like it would be safer to send her away back to the city, even if it meant not only breaking her heart, but his as well. He would do anything to keep her safe. But first, he needed "one night with her -- just one night, or so he thought as well as Raven, she also thought just one night." In their minds, each was saying, "One Night With You" then I can work you out of my system, however, again, love has no boundaries, no limits and can be a stronghold -- especially a love that is meant to last a lifetime and not just a fly by night love affair. Indeed, their thoughts "One Night With You" became thoughts of that is not enough time to remember or to forget -- one night will not do, but a lifetime is needed. Another great read, Ms. Ray. Enjoyed the book! Also, would love to know if the Duncan McBride's parents will find their way back to each other -- Mr. McBride has never really forgotten or got over his ex-wife, their mother and she in turn has confessed to Mrs. Ruth Grayson many times that she regrets her error in divorcing him. Surely, I hope if not a story, then the readers are made aware of their coming together in another story, perhaps in the next one maybe about Rio, Blade Navarone's body (Blade married Sierra Grayson) and friend of Shane Elliott -- all friends of the Grayson.

One Night With You (Grayson Friends)Ms. Ray did it again. One Night With You was so DARN!!!!!!!!!!Good that I finished it in one night. You could feel the love that Ducan felt from the moment he saw Raven, and the love that Raven felt for Ducan when she first met him. Ms. Ray also gave each reader something to laugh at. Each time I read about Ducan's cook cooking and how the meals tasted it I screamed. The festival in town was when you really felt the love that they had for one another. When he went back to take his horse back to the ranch and how that crazy man tried to kill his horse and pulled the gun on Ducan how Raven wouldn't leave with her man. Also how everyone waited until they came to the dinner to show there desserts. You knew Raven was a take charge woman when she made the men that worked for Ducan not talk about problem at the party.

Francis Ray does it again with another installment of the Grayson Friends series. Ruth Grayson continues on her mission for the people in her life to experience real love and a happily ever after. Her children out of the way she continues to focus on their friends, next on the list - Duncan McBride. Duncan believes in the family curse and believes that even though his siblings are happy he is destined to end up like his parents - miserable. This all changes when archaeologist Raven La Blanc invades his ranch and his life. He sees her as something he just has to have but only temporarily, He soon finds out though that One Night with her is simply not enough.

Another Angry Rancher and (another) Beautiful Women..........,
By
This review is from: One Night With You (Grayson Friends Novels) (Mass Market Paperback)
Here we have an angry rancher (his wife left him and he vows to never trust another beautiful woman). Guess who comes into his life......................a beautiful (professional) women. He tries his BEST to keep her at bay (but the more she's around the more he wants her!) She came to the ranch with the intentions of completing a task and returning home. BUT, she's finding herself more and more intrigued with the sexy rancher with the dark and dangerous eyes. The more time they spend together, the more they want each other. He becomes more angry, while she becomes more wanting. Then he publicly humiliates her and those around him want to beat him up (so did I until I read what happened next). He comes to her to apologize and she jumps on him (literally, in a lustful way)! WHAT!?!?!?!?!?
Now that's NOT the bad part. The bad part is: this happened in not one but TWO of Francis Ray's books! YES, TWO!!! "Only Hers" with Shannon and Matt and in "One Night with You" with Raven and Duncan. That (storyline) was NOT a good idea the first time. So what in the world would make her do it again (and what's more tragic than that...........I READ BOTH BAD BOOKS!!!) BUT, I bought both from a thrift store and that's where they will return. Okay, I'm done with reading Ms. Ray's books. Yes, I have read more than the two, and I was not okay with the others I read either. Since Ms. Ray used the same storyline, I'm using the same review.................... |
