More About the Author

Shelley lives in Auckland, the City of Sails, with her husband and a cheeky Jack Russell/mystery breed puppy.

Typical New Zealanders, Shelley and her husband left home for their big OE soon after they married (translation of New Zealand speak - big overseas experience). A year long adventure lengthened to six years of roaming the world. Enduring memories include being almost sat on by a mountain gorilla in Rwanda, lazing on white sandy beaches in India, whale watching in Alaska, searching for leprechauns in Ireland, and dealing with ghosts in an English pub.

While travel is still a big attraction, these days Shelley is most likely found in front of her computer following another love - that of writing stories of romance and adventure. Other interests include watching rugby (strictly for research purposes), cycling, baking bread and curling up with a good book.

Title: One Night Of Misbehavior

Series: N/A

Author: Shelley Munro

Genre: Erotica, Romance

Blurb: He wears his scars on the outside. She keeps hers safe inside.

Charlotte Dixon ignores her stepmother's edict and, in an act of disobedience, attends one of the social events of the year--a masquerade costume ball. Charlotte's naughtiness escalates when she dances and smooches with a sexy mystery man. The night of anonymous passion that follows makes her yearn for a different life, but the next day she's back to her dull routine of household management.

Advertising tycoon, Ash Marlborough is about to set a private investigator on the trail of his nameless princess when she waltzes right into his place of work. Charlotte is shocked to meet her masked man in the flesh, and even more perturbed when he asks her out on a date. Despite craving another night of sexy loving, she doesn't have time for a man, not when she wants to reinvent herself and grasp a new, improved life with both hands. But Ash knows what he wants, and he's determined to win the heart of his princess. Let the dance of seduction commence.

Warning: Contains a conniving stepmother, selfish stepsisters, a grandmother with fairy godmother tendencies and a sexy masked man who is willing to face them all for the love of a good woman.

Thoughts: "Do you think it's possible to die from sexual frustration?"

"Hell, yeah."

Don't let the old Cinderella fairytale ideal fool you - this a great story with scorching sex, and a real page turner. Other than the whole step-family, the happily ever after, and them treating her like a slave, it really doesn't hold to much with the old tale. It doesn't detract from the story at all.

I'm not a big reader of contemporary romance but once I started this book I couldn't put it down. In the beginning, you think it's going to be like a cinderalla story with her stepmother and stepsisters, but as you read you realize it is so much more than that. There are so many different twists and turns in the plot that it keeps you reading until it's finished. There are some really steamy scenes in it that will curl your toes and bits of humor interjected in different parts that keep the book on the lighter side. You can't help but fall in love with the sexy, scarred Ash and root for Charlotte to finally have her HEA. And, at the same time, wish for a building to fall on Elizabeth ( which doesn't happen but I can still wish it).

Cinderella meets Beauty and the Beast in this modern day fairy tale. Charlotte Dixon has put her entire life on hold as she's been emotionally blackmailed into staying home and taking care of her stepmother's ailing mother. She's also forced to take care of the house and cook meals for her ungrateful step-mother and step-sisters to "contribute to the household" since she's unable to have a regular job and take care of her Gran at the same time.

She meets a sexy masked Zorro at the costume ball her grandmother manipulates her into attending and she shares a night of passion with him after the ball. Then it's back to her mundane life of cooking and cleaning for her family.

Until her grandmother arranges a job interview at Marlborough Media. Then she's confronted with her masked man who's the owner of the company and her potential new boss.

Ashley Marlborough is called "The Beast" by the media because of extensive burn scars he suffered when caught in the fire that killed his mother when he was a child. He's considered a player because he doesn't stay with one woman long, but in reality he doesn't want to be used for his money. He wants to be loved for himself.

Once he starts pursuing Charlotte, he realizes that she isn't interested in his money; she likes him for himself. But she's extremely skittish and highly values her independence since she's been unpaid maid labor for her family for years. And he really has his work cut out for him convincing Charlotte that he's truly interested in committing to her.

I really enjoyed this twist on the Cinderella story. Having the man have to work for the woman's commitment is one of my favorite tropes. And Charlotte made Ash work for it until the very end.

I was a little afraid to read this book, honestly. I have read quite a few fairy-tale retellings in the last year or so, and none of them have been very impressive. I was wrong on this account.

This book is a lot of fun. It is the kind of book that makes you laugh and feel good about reading it and also the type that makes you want to share quotes. There are a few areas where I laughed loud enough to make people look up at me in question. I love it when that happens.

The main character, Charlotte is immediately likable. She is the kind of charismatic character that makes the rest of the story move along seamlessly so you don't even realise how fast you are reading it until you reach the last page.

The supporting characters are the kind that you just want to get to know better. This was my first experience with this author and I look forward to her future books. I have added her to my list of authors to watch and I would recommend that you do as well.

One of the main things that made me like this, is that although it is based loosely on a previous popular fairy-tale, it is also very unique. Even if you are familiar with the original story, this author will still surprise you with her ability to take a base story and turn it into something you have not seen before.

The only thing I might have liked to see done differently in this book was the last few chapters. Things felt a bit rushed and I thought there were missed opportunities to resolve situations.

Overall, this was a great book and a lot of fun to read.
