5.0 out of 5 stars Great Song - Album Version
For everyone complaining about the intro to this song, know that this is, in fact, the original. The album version has a clip of old-timey singing at the beginning. The radio version cut the intro out. I happen to like the intro because I bought this album in the 90's, but if you're trying to get the song that you remember from the radio, you'll need to tell your MP3...

I really wish I'd read the previous reviewer's comments BEFORE I purchased this track. The hillbilly singing is, indeed, very annoying. It has nothing to do with the song and completely ruins it. Why would someone take a perfectly good song and spoil it by adding on 15 seconds of crap? Grrrrrrr.

Joan Osborne,,,,,,,Ah a little new for her earlier time. Serious music with a quality thought and different feel than thr rapster crapsta noise that was flooding the markers in her days. That's her doing all the singing parts for the MO Town film celebrating Detroit's fineist muSICIANS in on out of the studios...until La and Vegs took them down. She's just one of those artists that refused to compromise or even pay attention to the noise that was being shoveled down hep cat america'a throat. Her ideas and stories are still fresh and give some relief form the celebrity laden boogers we all have to tramp through in the modern age. I relish the thought.

1.0 out of 5 stars Great song- terrible tacked on beginning, July 7, 2009

I love this song but was crushed to download it and find a nasal hillbilly-style verse tacked onto the front. It's very random and very annoying. If it was at the end I could deal with skipping it but I am REALLY bummed. I have to pay for a whole other song to get rid of it :(
