Product Description

Nami, Zoro, Chopper, and Robin are trapped aboard the Going Merry when it's commandeered by a monstrous lobster! To rescue his crew, Luffy must venture onto the sacred grounds of Upper Yard!

Amazon.com

The 26 episodes in this collection make up most of season six of the long-running comedy-adventure One Piece. While they were searching for the fabulous golden city of Shandora, Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates were carried by the Knock-Up Stream to Skypiea, a mysterious archipelago in the clouds. Forests of enormous trees cover the islands, and weirdly arching streams connect the waterways. The inhabitants of Skypiea are even stranger than its geography. There are goat-headed warriors, bizarre humanoids who administer complex traps, people with wings and antennae, and the elaborately tattooed Shandians, who hope to recapture their ancestral city. Luffy, Ussop, Chopper, Genji, Zoro, Nami, and Robin find they've been designated as a sacrifice and their ship, the Going Merry, is stranded on an ancient altar. The crew members are soon embroiled in a series of baroque battles; Luffy, Zoro, and Genji relish the conflicts; Chopper, Ussop, and Nami scream and fuss while Robin tries to uncover the secrets of the ubiquitous ruins. The situation grows more threatening with the appearance of Eneru, a self-styled god who can control lightning. He plans to drop Skypiea onto the Earth and take control of everyone and everything. But Eneru didn't count on the opposition of Monkey D. Luffy, who acquired special powers when he ate the accursed gum-gum fruit: the collection ends as they square off. Although their ultimate goal is the fabled treasure pirate king Gold Roger hid in the Grand Line, the Straw Hat gang seems no closer to finding it in episode 182 than they did in 157, but time spent with them is always entertaining. (Rated TV 14: violence, violence against women, tobacco use) --Charles Solomon

Now up in the land of the clouds, the Straw Hats have realized that this place isn't ideal. The place called Skypiea is ruled by a tyrannical man named Eneru. Eneru fancies himself a god and wants to destroy the land and it's people. Luffy and his friends are being drawn in to a fierce battle with the strongest enemy yet.

This anime is incredible. It's got action, comedy, adventure, and suspense. The voice actors are all familiar to just about any casual or serious anime fan. This anime also has a lot of Dragonball-like fun in it. It's tons of fun to watch and keeps you wanting to know what happens next. Now that Funimation has started releasing One Piece in these box sets, it's more affordable than ever. Any fan of anime, or any fan of fun in general will find this series a breath of fresh air. It's a must see.

There are no words to describe this show except for Epic. At first I thought this show was going to be a silly kid's show with not the best animation style. After thinking this for many years, and mocking it for the always remembered 4kids version, I decided to take on the beast of an anime with 500+ episodes. Best decision I have ever made. It starts of really rocky at first, but once you reach Arlong park, the necessity to keep going urges you on. After entering the grand line the story just gets better and better. As the straw hat pirate's ship grows in experience and crew mates, my interest continues to grow. Once I reached Water 7 there was no going back. The story line that the author/mangaka, Eiichiro Oda, created is the most incredible tale I have ever heard. Not only does the world make you forget all about your own, but the story and characters make you want to leave reality and join the Mugiwara (strawhat) crew. No show or anime has ever made me feel this or at least to this extent. I have now rewatched the whole show two times all the way through and have dragged a lot of my friends into this addictive tale. They would have it no other way. Oda is a master at story telling to the point where I was crying with every character and even over the loss of a certain "nakama" I never thought I would cry over. The only other word is Brilliance. Sheer Brilliance. This show is my favorite anime of all time. I would say it is also in my favorite top 3 stories of all time, if not top 2. :) Thank you for your brilliance, Oda, and for caring about us over here, Funimation. :)

The Funimation collections are uncut and best of all, I have the choice to watch it in the original Japanese with English subs, which is my preference.

Such an enjoyable story. Occasionally the plots get drawn out, but they always come back together in imaginable ways. Wonderful!

One Piece Collections DVD quality, it seems like it cuts off some of the...
The One Piece dvds are not cropped. Everything that should be there is there. I have seen the ones from the original Japanese broadcast and can guarantee you the video is the same.

How will this go on?
These Collections are cheaper bundles of the seasons 1-3 Voyages. Season 4 will be released in 11-12 episode Voyage sets starting from August 7 (One Piece: Season 4 Voyage One) and will probably be re-released as Collections 9+ eventually, but probably not for a few years. Read More
