I've been a one piece fan for few years now and still watch it when i can. I've bought all the American releases of the PS2/GC one piece games and lets just say none reached above a 6 for me, if even that high. So when i picked up a Wii besides the big games like Mario and Super Smash i was really looking forward to One Piece: Unlimited Adventure. And FINALLY I got what i wanted.

Story - 6 - The weakest part of the game. It's interesting enough to keep playing but just not enough to give it a great one. It's basically luffy and his crew head off to another adventure and get stuck on a Island which makes you remember memories of old times. This is interesting enough but nothing big happens but it's still worth finding out what happens to Luffy and his crew. Also just so US watchers know this game takes place after Enis Lobby so don't play unless your up to the current Japanese episodes.

Graphics - 9 - Some great graphics for the Wii. While things do look blocky at times the areas + Character models make this game look great. No more chibi looking characters, this is the real one piece look!

Gameplay - 8.5 - While it can get boring since each character only has about 7-8 attacks you have 8 characters to play with. This keeps the flow going and leveling up characters + Moves makes it even more fun. You also have over 40 characters to use in multiplayer!

Enjoyment - 9 - A long adventure with tons to do after beating the main story. Unlocking all the hidden bosses so you can use em in VS you'll have plenty to do. For 40 bucks your defiantly getting what your paying for.

Final Score - 8.5 - As a one piece fan it's a easy 8.5 and if your not it may only be a 7 or 7.5 but it's still a worthy game for my Wii collection. So go out and have fun one piece fans, i did.

Finally, after all the previous butchered games released about One Piece so far, Unlimited Adventure delivers! Bandai Namco, and also Funimation for providing its current cast of voice actors, bring us an almost-fully unedited game featuring characters we've seen so far here in America, and some we have yet to see in the manga and anime.

New characters introduced start with the eigth member of Luffy's crew - Franky the Cyborg. Yes, I said "cyborg" (the creator, Eiichiro Oda, is a weird guy). He's the crew's shipwright, as he built their ship the Thousand Sunny (The Merry Go, sadly, is gone by the time this game takes place). His abilities include extending his one arm on a chain similar to Luffy's Gum Gum Pistol attack, and he can spit numerous nails at his enemies. Fans consider this as a whetting of your appetites for when he makes his anime and manga debut over here.

The game has 8 stages, one of which is where you recover your power and also save, and make cool foods and items. Each of the other stages have two bosses (plus a hidden one) you have to defeat, each one brought to life via the memories of the Straw Hats and also a mysterious orb they keep with them when the game starts. Friends, enemies, rivals, no one is spared in trying to keep you from accomplishing your goal. Some bosses you have to fight again at full health, once you beat them a first time, that is. Others, when they have half their life bar depleted, kick it up a notch and start using deadlier moves (including one-hit kill moves).

As you play, certain spots give you flashbacks into the lives of the Straw Hats (including right before a boss fight) to give you a better idea of the Straw Hats. Since they are randomized, though, they are out of order and those not familiar with the series will be a bit confused. And those who haven't been keeping up with the storylines in Japan will be lost when you face certain bosses. For example, the bosses Kaku, Spandam,and Rob Lucci (all three from the CP9 Saga, one of the greatest parts of OP by far).

The gameplay can be a bit tedious since some of the characters don't react fast enough after pulling off certain moves, and the bug collecting for item-making does get frustrating, but the game is fun all around and the voice-acting is superb. If you'r a fan of OP, you should give this game a try.

To be a game based off an animated program, this game really has alot going for it. The battle system can get pretty old and is rather easy, but its well balanced by extremely tough boss fights that you really have to think through. Its not a game for kids in the least bit. This is a serious adventure game that you really have to think about to beat.

That being said, it has a ton of content and is a decent length. Its seriously worth being picked up by fans of the show, anime fans in general, or people who own a Wii and simply want a good lengthy adventure!

Overall everything about this game is done pretty well. There are parts of the game that can be very frustrating and my biggest complaint is the way the game forces you on such a strict path and offers next to no help in guiding you on where to go next. I found myself in several instances running around aimlessly looking for some stupid bug or fish or plant that I missed in order to make some special item to activate the next orb.

The other issue I had (though this is a fan issue, and not something wrong with the game or gameplay itself) was the voice acting. Every loyal fan to the show will say without a doubt that the japanese voice actors are beyond superior to the american ones, and not having the option of switching languages is a major thorn in my side. Most of the time I end up playing with the volume muted because i find myself reaching for the nearest stabbing weapon every time Luffy speaks.

If you can look past the voices and the fact that you will spend a large ammount of time surfing FAQs online, this is definately worth it. The combat makes up for a lot of the other flaws. GOMU GOMU NO GATTLING GUN!!! Oh yeah...I went there.

One Piece: Unlimited Adventure is the newest game in the franchise for the Nintendo Wii, and it's also the first title to be localized in the US by FUNimation. Not only does this mean better voice acting, but the game is intact from it's original Japanese presentation, with characters, scenes, and references that the english dub won't cover for another 100+ episodes. So enjoy the ride, but beware of spoilers!

Unlimited Adventure is an action-adventure game much like Zelda. Luffy and co. find themselves exploring a strange new island, unlocking its secrets via a magic orb. There are enemies to fight, moves to learn and master, and items to collect and combine. There's definitely a fun RPG element here, and the controls are solid with a bit of wiimote waggle for the fishing and bug catching. The graphics don't push the power of the wii, but the art style is true to the series and characters have lots of animations. The good voice work and music round out the presentation.

Unfortunately, Unlimited Adventure can get very tedious at times. The game offers little direction on what to do or where to go, so you often go on aimless explorations through generic environments hoping you'll notice something you hadn't seen before. Powering up your magic orb to advance requires the collection of arbitrary items, many of which force you to collect the ingredients, backtrack to your camp to create, and return to the spot to use. While backtracking, you'll be forced to fight against multiple generic enemies, mindlessly button mashing until you gain enough experience to level up to the next attack. There's really not a whole lot of story to motivate you, either; the payoff exists in the occasional boss fight with classic One Piece villains like Arlong, Crocodile, and Bon Clay. These characters are then unlocked in vs. mode, a nice (if small) diversion from the main game.

Overall, the care put into the localization makes Unlimited Adventure a no-brainer for One Piece fans, but it's a fairly standard game for everyone else.

This game was really fun. With all the characters and everything else. Best one piece game ever. and all of the bosses and also survival mode and everything else was really amazing.

great game, very entertaining and funny but if your not a one piece fan its probably not the game for you.

-voice acting is great
-large character roster
-versus mode allows you to play w/villians
-great presentation (there are various sceneries, well-executed moments, awesome character interaction, flashbacks from the anime, and tons of special moves taken from the show)
-makes decent use of the nunchaku

Cons-
-no awesome opening/closing theme music included. Just your standard, mediocre video game music.
-tons of backtracking
-gameplay is nothing special
-no next-gen graphics (the standard for all wii games)
-targeting your opponents is a tad bit annoying (the other control settings are solid)

You'll enjoy this game if you're already familiar w/the characters. I gave it a four because I really like the characters.

I hate when people come out with an anime game and it is like good job you've just been given shovel ware. One Piece Unlimited adventure breaks threw that and keeps going. First off this game is really a lot of fun. You heard me right it's fun. Which is something to say in it's self. The story is rich and very funny. Your characters are all really easy to control and Zoro may stand out as the strongest there is none that are really "broken" and none that feels like a waste of space. Also there is a lot to get and collect including new costumes. The fighting side game is fun but I'm not going to lush over the mulitplayer even though it is fun but it is not really the main stage. The game looks beautiful (especially Nami and Robin :-) ). If your a One Piece fan, this game is a must. If you are not I'd still say buy it. It might just bring you to the one piece side.

As a fan of One Piece I'm slightly biased, but this game is lots of fun nonetheless. It has tons of gameplay value; my bro and I clocked 60 hours before retiring it. The experience of collection and item creation isn't for everyone though, but I liked seeing the crew and their campsite grow. The One Piece story is somewhat filled in by flashbacks, but if you're not a fan it would be confusing. However, even if you're not a fan, this might make you one.
