About the Author

Eiichiro Oda debuted in WEEKLY SHONEN JUMP in 1997 as a comic creator and artist with ONE PIECE. More About the Author

Eiichiro Oda began his manga career at the age of 17, when his one-shot cowboy manga Wanted! won second place in the coveted Tezuka manga awards. Oda went on to work as an assistant to some of the biggest manga artists in the industry, including Nobuhiro Watsuki, before winning the Hop Step Award for new artists. His pirate adventure One Piece, which debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 1997, quickly became one of the most popular manga in Japan.

4.0 out of 5 stars The floating restaurant., January 23, 2008
This review is from: One Piece, Vol. 5: For Whom the Bell Tolls (Paperback)
Eiichiro Oda, One Piece: For Whom the Bell Tolls (ViZ, 1997)

The Usopp storyline comes to a close, and the crew heads off to find a ship's cook. Where better to do so than a floating restaurant? The only problem is that on the way, they meet a Navy Marshal, who attempts to sink their ship, and Luffy, in deflecting the ball, sends it right into said floating restaurant-- so now he not only has the navy to contend with, but very angry restaurant owner. What to do? Another fun episode. ****
