4.0 out of 5 stars Exceptional Music For Everyone
I just got this CD last week and enjoy it very much. Four stars is pretty good but Chris has lots of albums that are 5 stars. I do like this album as it is consists mostly of remakes. "Life Is A Highway" is great and Chris can really sing it to make it his own. "The Fever", a song written by Aerosmith is okay but Garth Brook's version is slightly...

3.0 out of 5 stars One Road Man, the title cut, is awesome!
This is in many ways untraditional Ledoux but the best I have heard by far! One Road Man,the title cut, is probably my favorite on the CD. It just keeps getting better and better!

"Bang A Drum", a duet with Jon Bon Jovi is great and even better than Jon's version. This album is so diversified that there is something for everyone and I highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars The first Chis CD with a rock star, April 23, 2000

I think the best song on this CD is "The Borderline". It is about a cowboy and a sheriff after a group of men. The second best is easily "Bang a Drum". This is the song with John Bon Jovy in it. I never thought I would ever hear these two sing together. If you have heard The Fever by Garth Brooks, Chris also sings it. I think it was origionaly Chris' song though.

5.0 out of 5 stars Chris needs to put more out like this!, July 22, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: One Road Man (Audio CD)
I bought this because I knew Life is a Highway and Bang a Drum. These two are very good, but there are so many others that outweigh them. I really liked the title track, One Tonight, Runaway Love, Old Paint, and Johnny Horton's Ole Slew Foot. I was disappointed with Chris's version of The Fever since it sounds like Garth Brooks' 95 version and brought nothin' new to the song. However, thats the only problem I had with it; this CD has stayed in my changer for a while.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's just THAT good ..., October 19, 1998

Chris LeDoux has done it again and proved his versatility in song styles. From "Old Paint" to "The Fever" every song on this album is done up in classic LeDoux style. It may just be his best yet ... but with a singer as talented as Chris, it just gets better and better. If you buy only one CD this year, make it this one! I come from a ranching background, and Chris sings it like it is. He IS country, from ranching to rodeo, he's lived it, and as a result, he is able to put more into his songs than just incredibly vocal talent ... with every word, you can hear the heart and soul behind the music. Chris LeDoux is what every "country singer" should strive to be!

4.0 out of 5 stars Not the usual LeDoux, but still fine, October 3, 2006
This review is from: One Road Man (Audio CD)
As a Chris LeDoux fan for more than 25 years and a longtime member of his fan club (and Chris is my favorite singer ever), I've got to say this CD is a bit different. First, it continues the unfortunate trend of Chris not writing his own songs (but at least the sappy love songs of earlier Capitol/Liberty CDs are gone). Second, he recorded some non-country songs--"Life Is A Highway" and "Bang A Drum"--but I think they work. Third, it's good and loud--remember, he always said he sang cowboy rock 'n' roll--but also reflective ("One Road Man" and "One Ride In Vegas"). "The Borderline" is by far the best song on the CD. All in all, it's a different LeDoux CD, and it's quite good.

Chris LeDoux really knows how to rock, but at the same time, the words to his songs can really get to your heart. He is so awesome. Chris sings about what he knows and you can feel the energy from his music. Definitely 5 stars!

4.0 out of 5 stars He keeps getting farther away ., December 18, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: One Road Man (Audio CD)
It is like he left the good old country an went to the dammed old rock an roll . I wish he would go back to the country, just like one of the other guys said. But he is still the best there is. He was the world champion BAREBACK rider in 1964 , so he has been there.
