The idea of the journal itself is great, the layout is beautiful as is the binding... my problem with this journal is the quality of the paper used. This is not sketch quality paper, it should be a thicker weight. It's super thin and you can see the drawings from previous days strike through. It kind of defeats the purpose of having a sketch book when you it all ends up looking sloppy. I love this idea and for people who are not dedicated artists, it may work for them but for others, not so much.

I had wanted this sketch diary for longer than I can remember. Once I was able to get it, I was excited to get to create a visual chronicle of events. The idea, like I said, is really great but there is one major flaw - when you draw on the opposing page, it will transfer the pencil from the previous pages against each other making them look dirty. It's a common way to transfer images, to put down pencil on the back of a page and then trace, but when it's in a sketch book like this, unfortunately it ruins the pages previous to the one you're currently drawing on. I was really disappointed. It would be fine for ink, but the tooth and thickness of the paper aren't really made for that.
Bummer summer. I'd get a regular sketch book next time.

I received this item as a gift. I absolutely love it. Great quality..It has a few instructions, then it's mostly pages divided into two parts with spaces on each to fill in the date. What a lovely idea.
