5.0 out of 5 stars This is soooo great!!! September 20, 2011

Ever since I first heard "Hold me" on the radio I have been CRAZY about Jamie Grace music! (And we both have Grace in our names too!) "One song at a time" features fresh, and happy music that you can listen to over, and over, and over without getting tired of it. This is Christian music unlike any I have heard before. It's upbeat, and just sounds...happy! If you want a new way to worship the Lord with your voice, and you heart I HIGHLY recommend this albumb.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jamie Grace [One Song At A Time] September 29, 2011
Format:Audio CD
Spend any time at all with Jamie Grace, and it's obvious that she's special. Her infectious smile, bright eyes and her expressive way with words are all tell-tale signs: this is one unique girl. But the effervescent spirit in this young woman is even more powerful and compelling than what can be seen. Her contagious joy and message of hope can only be understood in the context of her story. And her struggle. Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, Jamie Grace learned two powerful lessons: one, that ministry is a way of life; two, that life is good, even when it's hard. Diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome at age 11, her young life became a series of heartbreak and challenge, a long season of physical exhaustion, emotional stress and spiritual doubt. Then one day, inspired by the powerful testimony of Tammy Trent on the Revolve Tour, Jamie Grace came to a life-changing conclusion. "I heard Tammy speak and I thought, `I've cried enough. It's time to accept my joy.' It was just the long process of finally realizing that, even with Tourette's, I still have something to do with my life. I love to sing. I have a story, and I've got to share it."

One Song At A Time is one of my most anticipated full length albums of the year. On the heels of Jamie's massive number one hit song "Hold Me" featuring TobyMac from Jamie's Hold Me EP, I didn't know how she could possibly follow-up on that type of introduction as an artist. It was well worth the wait, and this is not only one of the best debut albums I've heard, it's also one of the top albums of the year. To call Jamie the next big thing in Christian music may be an understatement. Just like her mentor TobyMac, her album is accessible well beyond just the Christian music market.

I received this CD for my birthday. I love it so much! My 2 year old sings along with Hold Me and it's the sweetest thing ever. I really love all the songs, they are uplifting, fun, and have a solid message. I think this girl is going to go far!

5.0 out of 5 stars Truly Anointed!! May 3, 2012
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
When I play this CD, it's difficult to stop it. I set the stereo on repeat and listen to every song over and over again; sometimes hours go by. Truth be told, I listen to this CD so much that I'm hearing the songs in my head when the CD isn't playing, and I'm just fine with that.

Most of Jamie's songs are upbeat and uplifting - Hold Me (featuring tobyMac), With You, Come to Me, God Girl, You Lead, One Song at a Time - and I'd even call Show Jesus (gimme that, gimme that, and show me that, show me that) and 1945 fun songs. And every song is inspirational; especially Holding On (peaceful, soothing) and Not Alone.

My favorites: COME TO ME- Come to me when you're weary and I'll give you hope when you're hurting, I'll give you rest from your burden - and NOT ALONE- His arms are holding you, His love will see you through. When you smile and you laugh, but you're fakin', `cause you don't know how you're gonna make it. These songs help me to keep in mind that God has not left me. Even though there are times when I feel like He isn't there, like He isn't listening... HE IS.

The first time I listened to Jamie's One Song at a Time CD, I thought of pop singer -song writer, Angel Taylor. So I'd say Jamie's sound is Christian pop. This young lady is gifted; truly anointed!! Her debut album will bless people of all ages.

5.0 out of 5 stars star power plus another Thing March 14, 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Jamie Grace sings of her love for God and how it makes her feel. As such, she is in a class of devotional singers that are called saints in some parts of the world.
If you can sing of God's love for you, and vice versa, then you are a devotee. In India, the bhakti path (heart worship) emerged when women were able to participate in the spiritual life there. The heart is today considered the best and most effective way to reach communion with God. This is true for Jesus as well.

So she is engaged in ministry here as well. As said in the New Testament, it is up to those alive today to carry the word. And the experience she brings as an artist is the direct experience of God in herself. This is the ontological rather than the cosmological God. The intimate experience of God's being as against his greatness and power.

A quote from Mathew:
Matthew 18:10
"Jesus: See that you do not look down on one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.

Forgive me for being so theological, had to say it.

And by the way, her singing is GREAT!!! oooo eee!

Topic From this Discussion
To some extent. It's not always the gospel artists fault either. Many black gospel fans want give any artist that sound any different a chance at all. It always amazes me when a new black gospel artist comes out and he or she is advertised as something new but the sound is invariably the same... Read More
