This CD has recieved some average reviews because supposedly, George has strayed from traditional roots. Maybe so, but this CD still has great music worhty of buying. We Really Shouldn't Be Doing This, I Just Wanna Dance With You, Why Not Now, and especially Maria are my favorites. I listen to every song everytime its played, dont skip a one! George hasn't strayed, he's adapting and keeping it country at the same time! He will allways be King of Country. This CD is worth buying and deserves a rank of five stars not one. Alot of great music! Dont wait to buy the greatest hits CD there are so many songs that make it a must buy! You will miss out on so much good music. Keep up the good work George.

We Really Shouldn't Be Doing This, I Just Wanna Dance With You, Why Not Now, and especially Maria are my favorites. I listen to every song on this CD everytime I play it, never want to skip any of them! George didn't stray from traditional country music, he is just adapting. This CD is a worhty of your hard earned money! A lot of great listening music to add to your collection! BUY IT!

One Step At A Time Is The Same Name For "One Night At A Time" Which Appears On The "Carrying Your Love With Me" Album. The Dance Tune "I Just Wanna Dance With You" Became A Number 1 Hit. The Songs I Like On This CD Are: "True" And "We Really Shouldn't Be Doing This". You Won't Be Dissipointed With This CD.

I bought One Step At A Time because I couldn't get enough of the song, "True." I also liked the hits "I Just Wanna Dance With You" and "We Really Shouldn't Be Doing This." However, after listening to the rest of the songs, I sort of thought that this album wasn't the typical George Strait album; especially not when you compare it to some of the other great ones such as Carrying Your Love With Me and Blue Clear Sky. The only songs I liked other than the 3 hits were the title track and "Remember The Alamo." I thought the rest of the songs were just mediocre and not up to the usual George Strait standard.

Overall, if you're a George Strait fan, I would recommend getting this album. But if you only get a few of his albums, this is not one of his best.

The title song makes the album worth trying, worth buying. I am not much of a country fan, but this album re-ignites my interest.

For you people who think this was a disapointment. Please get off your soap box. GS did not stray from traditional country music. I Just Want To Dance With You, Why Not Now, and You Haven't Left Me Yet were very country. Maria with its spanish twist is my fav from this album, and We Really Shouldn't Be Doing This is great to do a little Texas polka too. Now when George starts sounding like Brad Paisley or as pop as Shania he will have strayed from traditional country. This CD is good and a must buy just like the rest!

After reading some of the other interviews, I am wondering why other people do not love this CD as much as I do. I have purchased it two times! The first time was for my country loving husband. We enjoyed listening to it for a while, only to lose it some time later. I purchased a George Strait greatest hits CD thinking it might be better than the lost CD, but there was no comparison. After months of being without One Step at a Time, I was not happy until I bought it again! I especially like the first two tracks, I Want to Dance With you and One Step at a Time. It is my opinion this is George Strait at his best!

While this was an ever so slight slip down on his otherwise perfect album output, it still stands head and shoulders over all other Country albums. What really helps keep this album good is the outstanding near-perfect dance number "We Really Shouldn't Be Doing This". This song just kicks you in the Wranglers and makes ya dance! ONE STEP AT A TIME might not be his best step, but I'd never say anything bad about THE man!

Probably the biggest George Strait fan there is, I almost died when I listened to this recording. He strays so far away from country that it's hard to call it country at all. I had faith in old George, though, and he made a strong comeback with Always Never The Same. There isn't a bad track on it, and I hope it will produce many more greatest hits for him.

This cd rocks. Right along with all of your others. And man are you cute!!!!I listen to at least two of your cd's everyday. Keep up the great tunes!!!!!!!!
