4.0 out of 5 stars Great Imaginations Save The Day! August 24, 2009
Format:Paperback
The only thing that can make a dreary day worse is bored kids! This story is about a brother and sister trapped inside on a rainy day, and they don't want to do any of the things their mom suggests to help them pass the time. I remember feeling exactly this way as a kid! Finally, they agree on a game of pretend, and with their imaginations at work, the day flies by...they end up having so much fun they hope the next day is rainy too! My favorite part was the illustrations of the kids playing pirates - fun and lively.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun and entertaining! August 24, 2009
Format:Paperback
This is an adorable story done in rhyme! Ben and Sarah try to come up with ideas of what to do on a rainy Saturday. Mom and Dad try to help with a few ideas, but Ben and Sarah prefer their own idea. Imagination creates a fun-filled day with a story of pirates and treasures. This book is lots of fun to read and the illustrations are colorful and very well done. Your child will enjoy this adorable story. And, you'll enjoy reading it along with your little ones.

2.0 out of 5 stars ARRR. Where's the grammar? June 9, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
An interesting idea, but there were more grammatical errors than a pirate has gold coins. It totally distracted me from the story.

4.0 out of 5 stars pirates and thunder kept at bay August 26, 2009
By shopper
Format:Paperback
This charmingly ilustrated book has short inventive rhymes so a child could memorize it and read it to himself. The thunder storm is the background for a scary story about the pirates' cannons. The King's navy arrives to help Captain Ben and Queen Sarah win the day atop their ship, which resembles their bed. It is cute and a child will enjoy it, even on days when there is no scary storm outside.

5.0 out of 5 stars Your Imagination Can Be A Great Adventure August 30, 2009
Format:Paperback
This story shows what our children need today. No cable, ninetendo or wii, just their imaginations to take them on a wonderful adventure. The graphics are awesome and the rhyming helps kids remember the story. I read this to my six yr old and we had to play pirates when we finished.

4.0 out of 5 stars Teaching creativity and compromise August 30, 2009
Format:Paperback
My children truly identified with this story in that other kids find it difficult to compromise when developing ideas for creative play. They enjoyed pointing out the funny expressions on each of the characters, and found the true-to-life exasperation of the mom to be hysterical (hey!?!). This is definitely a book they will read more than once.

4.0 out of 5 stars Getting Imaginations Started - Rumble! Rumble! Rumble! September 19, 2009
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Rumbling thunder that started their Saturday finally gave way to more imaginative play! Kids these days seem to want to be entertained rather than coming up with activities themselves. This is a great little book with the story in rhyme depicting easily how kids can brainstorm given a certain amount of time. Kids have fun talking about the pictures.
