This is just another wonderful book about coal mining . I hated to come to the ending and regret I can't read it for the first time. I took a chance when I ordered it there were no reviews or even a jacket photo. A good easy read and an important book to learn how the coal companies came to get a grip on Appalachia and the courage this family had to stay in their home. And here it is today for 1 cents I wish I could read it for the first time again

IN READING THIS BOOK I FOUND IT IS WRITTEN ABOUT TRUE EXPERIENCES IN MY HOMETOWN, THE PEOPLE ARE REAL- NAMES WERE CHANGED. BUT I GREW UP IN THE COALFIELDS, MY DAD WAS A COAL MINER, MY GRANDPARENTS AND FAMILY MEMBERS ARE-WERE. THIS BOOK IDENTIFIES THE VERY HONEST WAY OF LIVING IN THE COALFIELDS, BACK YEARS AGO. THE BOOK IS WELL WRITTEN AND EXPLAINS THINGS VERY WELL. ANYONE WHO READS THIS WILL FEEL LIKE THEY ARE THERE. ENJOY..
THE CHARACTER ESTIL DEAN WAS A MR BOGGS FROM OUR AREA
