5.0 out of 5 stars syreeta's most sensual album...., November 1, 2004
This review is from: One to One (Audio CD)
one to one is the beautiful syreeta's most sensual album yet.released 3 years after her masterpiece with stevie,'stevie wonder presents syreeta'this beautiful album has the musical production of the gifted leon ware with co-production by syreeta and curtis robertson jr.the album opens with the title track a very upbeat but sensual warm romantic song with syreeta's soft sexy vocals singing about the pleasures of physical love between 2 people.she sweetly sings:'i need,i need,i need!'... the next track "i don't know" is more upbeat with stretching her vocals as far as they could go. the song climaxes with a fast pace."rest yourself" a moderate paced song with syreeta informing us 2 slowdown in life by taking it easy 2 rest our minds and bodies."i too am waiting" a very sweet sensual tender ballad of which the beginning of the song sounds like the middle of a tv or movie theme.otherwise the song is about physical longing 4 love.4 this song, syreeta's sweet voice gives a nod 2 minnie riperton."tiki tiki donga"is an upbeat spicy percussive number with it's soulful jazz edges and beautiful ad-libs by syreeta."don't cry"is another soulful tender slowjam of which syreeta tells us 2 be strong and 2 hold on despite all the pain in life we may all experience."harmour love"is the only stevie wonder written track on the album.it was written in 1975.the song has an island flavor 2 it with syreeta&stevie providing a beautiful duet.
the album ends with the title cut remixed beautifully."one to one"i say again is syreeta's most sensual album...

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid Album with one great track, February 12, 2009

"Harmour Love" is vintage prime-era Stevie Wonder and the rest of the tracks are solid, with only a couple of clunkers. Not up to the standards of "Stevie Wonder Presents Syreeta or the eponymous record, but nonetheless a good buy.

Thank you for finally remastering this great recording and burning to a compact disc. This is probably my FAVORITE album of all time. Been searching for it on CD since I got rid of my turntable.

One to One hosts Syreeta's pure, sweet, sincere, melodic soprano voice over a mix of soul, funk, jazz and pop rhythms, riffs and grooves. Seven beautiful songs expressing the types of love I enjoy; brotherly, exclusive and passionate. "Why hurry to the end? Make this feeling last.."
