Michael Bolton is one of the few artists out there, who you know when you buy their album it will be quality work.Every time Michael sings he goes to a place in his mind that reflects the type of song he is doing. This album is one of his finest it is filled with songs that come from from his heart. Anybody that likes Michael Bolton would definitely not be disappointed with this album.

Singing from His Soul,
By
This review is from: One Thing (Audio CD)
Michael Bolton is a true musician in every sense of the word. He sings with all the passion and soulfulness of a man who feels his emotions. In turn, he shares his insight and interpretation of the lyrics and the melodies using thoughtful expressions. My favorite song on this album is "Soul of My Soul", even though this particular song was not one of the number one hits. The tempo and melody are unusual and the lyrics are incredible. You have to hear this song! a true love song...Of course, "Said I loved You, But I Lied" is a wonderful song, somewhat haunting, yet, a song of contradictions, leaves the listener with a pondering wonder..Michael sings with all he's got and has a lusty and sensuous tone that keeps us waiting for each new song!

One of Michael's very best,in my opinion,

THE ONE THING is a really enjoyable album. I bought it the day it was released, which was November 16,1993. This album only spawned one major hit, though. That's SAID I LOVED YOU...BUT I LIED. That song appeared on the follow-up compilation GREATEST HITS 1985-1995. Bolton covers Bill Withers' LEAN ON ME which sounds really great. It was previously covered by Club Nouveau(in 1987).

Michael Bolton,

Michael Bolton has one of the most powerful and certainly one of the most unique voices the pop world has ever seen. This album was a wonderful example of what Michael can do with his voice. The songs that stand out the most is the heart wrenching performance "Completely" the soulful rendition of "Lean On Me" and the fun rock sound of "You Ain't Got Nothin' If You Ain't Got Love." This is Michael Bolton at the top of his game. Michael has shown his lasting power because he is still relasing music today and never limits his still broadening musical talents! A must have for any M. Bolton fan. ~Richard F.

"The one Thing" is one of Michael`s best albums. The album is full of soul, passion and beautiful music and provides the listener with a great mix of ballads and up-tempo numbers. One of the best songs on the album is the great hit "Said I Loved You....But I Lied"
He is always incredible. He makes great music and this album is one of the best!

Best Bolton album!,

Between his 1988-1992 success and the lawsuit that he had to deal with the Isley Brothers, this album to me is still his best one to date! Michael Bolton made a very good effort in The One Thing. It was a departure from his more bombastic power ballads that he's so good at as he shifted to a few rock-driven songs and different producers. And the songs have such smoother, dramatic landscapes. The songs he did with Mutt Lange were all good. Said I Loved You... But I Lied is much different from his other singles, but I love the bridges and nature-driven feel of the song. I still like Soul of My Soul, even though it clocks in at 5:42. Most of the album's songs average 5 minutes, but they are enjoyable to hear. Love his remake of Bill Withers' Lean on Me--he has such a soulful voice. Although his later albums haven't matched up to his early '90s hits, this album is really his best to me. Solid pop stuff!
